NocPix LUMI L19 Thermal Imaging Monocular is a compact thermal monocular designed for wide-area scanning and shorter to medium-range observation. Its 384×288 thermal sensor is paired with a fast 19mm F0.9 objective lens, giving the L19 a particularly wide field of view while keeping the unit small and easy to carry.

With 2× base magnification, a 13.8° × 10.4° field of view and detection range up to approximately 980 metres, the L19 is especially well suited to locating heat sources quickly across woodland, fields and other closer-range environments. It provides a useful step up in thermal resolution from the entry-level P13 without the narrower view and higher starting magnification of the 35mm LUMI models.

IS THE NOCPIX LUMI L19 RIGHT FOR ME?

The LUMI L19 is particularly well suited to users who prioritise a wide field of view and fast scanning over maximum long-range magnification. Its 19mm lens gives you approximately 24 metres of horizontal view at 100 metres, making it easier to search larger areas and locate moving heat sources.

Compared with the P13, the L19 moves up to a 384×288 sensor and provides greater detection range and image detail. Compared with the L35, it retains the same 384×288 sensor resolution but uses a shorter 19mm lens and lower 2× starting magnification, giving you a considerably wider view at the expense of some long-range target detail.

If you mainly scan at closer and medium distances, the L19 is an excellent balance of performance and price. For more distant observation, consider the L35; for substantially higher thermal detail, move up to the H35.

P13: Entry-level LUMI with a 256×192 sensor and 13mm lens for shorter-range observation.

L19: Wide-field 384×288 model that is particularly well suited to scanning at closer and medium distances.

L35: Uses the same 384×288 sensor resolution as the L19 but combines it with a 35mm lens and 4× base magnification for considerably greater reach.

H35: Upgrades to a 640×512 sensor while retaining a 35mm lens, giving substantially greater image detail and a wider field of view than the L35.

L35R: 384×288 / 35mm model with an integrated laser rangefinder for distance measurement.

H35R: Combines the higher-resolution 640×512 sensor with a 35mm lens and integrated laser rangefinder.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the detection range of the NocPix LUMI L19?
The LUMI L19 has a thermal detection range of up to approximately 980 metres.

What is the difference between the LUMI L19 and L35?
Both use 384×288 thermal sensors, but the L19 has a 19mm lens and 2× base magnification, whereas the L35 uses a 35mm lens and 4× base magnification. The L19 therefore provides a wider field of view for scanning, while the L35 is better suited to more distant observation.

What is the difference between the LUMI L19 and P13?
The L19 uses a higher-resolution 384×288 thermal sensor compared with the P13's 256×192 sensor. It also uses a larger 19mm objective lens and offers a longer detection range.

Does the NocPix LUMI L19 have a laser rangefinder?
No. If you require integrated distance measurement, look at the LUMI L35R or H35R.

Is the LUMI L19 good for scanning?
Yes. This is one of the L19's main strengths. Its 2× base magnification and approximately 24m horizontal field of view at 100m make it particularly effective for searching larger areas quickly.

Does the LUMI L19 record video?
Yes. The LUMI L19 supports onboard photo and video recording.

Should I choose the L19 or H35?
Choose the L19 if you prioritise compact size, wide-area scanning and value. Choose the H35 if you want the substantially greater image detail of a 640×512 sensor together with longer-range capability.
