The Hawke Vantage 900 Laser Range Finder - 6x21 is the longest-ranging model in Hawke's Vantage handheld range finder line-up, designed for shooters and hunters who want extra distance capability without stepping up to the OLED-equipped Endurance range. With 6x magnification, a 21mm objective lens and a maximum measuring distance of 900 metres, it gives you considerably more ranging headroom than the Vantage 400 and 600 while retaining the same compact format.
The Vantage 900 combines fully multi-coated optics with an easy-to-read LCD display and multiple ranging modes including Standard, Horizontal Distance, Angle, Rain and Hunt. Its integrated inclinometer makes it particularly useful on sloping ground, where knowing the horizontal distance and target angle can be more useful than relying on line-of-sight distance alone.

RANGING MODES EXPLAINED
Standard: Measures the direct line-of-sight distance between the range finder and target. Continuous ranging can also be used to update the measurement while scanning.
Horizontal Distance: Calculates the horizontal component of the measured distance, particularly useful when ranging targets positioned uphill or downhill.
Angle: Displays the angle between the range finder and target, helping you understand the degree of incline or decline.
Rain: Helps reduce interference caused by rainfall when measuring targets in poor weather conditions.
Hunt: Helps ignore foreground interference from grass, branches and vegetation when ranging a target positioned beyond it.
HORIZONTAL DISTANCE & ANGLE MEASUREMENT
The Vantage 900 includes an inclinometer that measures the angle between the shooter and target as well as the direct line-of-sight distance.
Horizontal Distance mode then calculates the horizontal component of the measurement. This is particularly useful when ranging targets uphill or downhill, where the true horizontal distance can differ from the straight-line reading.
COMPARE HAWKE VANTAGE RANGE FINDERS
| Model | Optics | Max Range | Display |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vantage 400 | 6x21 | 400m | LCD |
| Vantage 600 | 6x21 | 600m | LCD |
| Vantage 900 | 6x21 | 900m | LCD |
All three Vantage models use the same compact 6x21 optical format and LCD display. The key difference is maximum ranging distance: 400m, 600m or 900m.
WHICH VANTAGE MODEL SHOULD I CHOOSE?
Vantage 400: Best suited to shorter-range shooting, air rifle use and pest control where 400 metres is more than sufficient.
Vantage 600: A useful middle option for general shooting and hunting where extra range is useful but 900 metres is unnecessary.
Vantage 900: The longest-ranging Vantage model, giving you the greatest flexibility within the range while retaining the same compact 6x21 format.
VANTAGE VS ENDURANCE
The Vantage range uses an LCD display, while Hawke's Endurance models step up to a red illuminated OLED display designed to remain highly visible against changing backgrounds and in varying light conditions.
The Vantage 900 gives you the longest ranging capability in the Vantage family. If you want an illuminated OLED display or need more than 900 metres of maximum range, the Endurance 1000 or 1500 are the logical models to consider.
IS THE VANTAGE 900 RIGHT FOR ME?
The Vantage 900 is the best fit within the Vantage family if you want maximum ranging distance while keeping the lower-cost LCD format.
It is especially suitable for shooters and hunters who want more ranging headroom than the Vantage 400 or 600 but do not need the illuminated OLED display of the Endurance range.
BATTERY & POWER
The Hawke Vantage 900 is powered by a single CR2 3V lithium battery. An automatic shut-off function helps conserve battery power when the range finder is left inactive.
