The NocPix NITE Pro D50R Digital Day and Night Riflescope with LRF is NocPix's flagship digital riflescope, built around an exceptional 8000×6000 48-megapixel sensor with an ultra-fine 1.2μm pixel size. Combined with a fast 50mm F1.25 objective lens and smooth 60Hz imaging, the D50R is designed to deliver extremely detailed full-colour imagery throughout the day while maintaining colour and image clarity deeper into fading light.

The NITE Pro differs fundamentally from a thermal riflescope. Rather than detecting heat, it captures visible and infrared light to produce a conventional-looking image with colour, texture, markings and environmental detail. Its enormous 48MP sensor gives the scope considerably more native image information to work with, particularly when digital magnification is increased.

Beyond image quality, the D50R combines an integrated 1,200m laser rangefinder, ballistic calculation, NocPix Target Sync technology, Light+ image processing and a large 1.03-inch 2560×2560 OLED display. With 3–36× magnification and a relatively wide 15.4 × 13m field of view at 100 metres, it is a premium all-round digital day/night scope rather than simply a long-range optic.

8000×6000 48MP 8K Sensor

The defining feature of the NITE Pro D50R is its extraordinary 8000×6000 digital imaging sensor.

That equates to approximately 48 million individual image pixels, giving the D50R more than four times the pixel count of conventional 4K-class digital scopes.

The benefit is particularly noticeable as magnification increases. Digital zoom enlarges a portion of the sensor image, so beginning with substantially more native image information helps preserve fine target detail.

NocPix specifically highlights details such as fur texture, feather patterns and other small visual features remaining clearer under magnification.

The 48MP specification is not simply about producing a large headline number. Its main practical advantage is giving the scope far more native image information to retain as the image is enlarged.

1.2μm Pixel Size – Why Does It Matter?

The D50R's sensor uses an exceptionally fine 1.2μm pixel size.

This allows NocPix to place an enormous 8000×6000 pixel array onto the digital sensor, providing extremely high spatial resolution.

For the user, this translates into the ability to reproduce finer visible detail, particularly when examining a distant subject or increasing digital magnification.

Pixel size should not be assessed in isolation: sensor resolution, physical sensor dimensions, lens aperture, image processing and display quality all contribute to the final image. NocPix has designed these elements as a complete imaging system in the NITE Pro.

50mm F1.25 Large-Aperture Lens

The D50R uses a fast 50mm F1.25 objective lens with multi-layer optical coatings.

The large F1.25 aperture is particularly important for a digital day/night scope because the sensor depends on available light. Allowing more light through the objective helps the scope maintain a brighter, cleaner image as daylight fades.

NocPix also uses optical coatings intended to reduce glare and ghosting while improving light transmission and colour reproduction.

Compared with the 70mm F2.0 D70R, the shorter 50mm lens gives the NITE Pro a lower 3× base magnification and considerably wider field of view, making it more versatile across changing distances.

Light+ Low-Light Image Processing

NocPix's Light+ algorithm works alongside the F1.25 optical system to improve image quality as ambient light falls.

The processing system is designed to reduce image noise, optimise contrast and preserve fine detail rather than allowing the picture to become excessively grainy as available light decreases.

One of the major aims of NITE Pro is to retain useful full-colour imagery later into twilight before additional infrared illumination becomes necessary.

This makes the D50R particularly attractive to users who want a conventional-looking digital image through changing daylight, dusk and nighttime conditions.

Digital Day & Night Vision – How Does It Work?

NITE Pro is a digital day/night riflescope rather than a thermal imaging scope.

During daylight, it uses visible light to create a detailed full-colour image. As ambient light falls, its sensitive sensor, fast F1.25 lens and Light+ processing allow useful colour performance to continue deeper into low-light conditions.

In complete darkness, compatible infrared illumination can be used to provide light that the digital sensor can detect.

Digital night vision: shows reflected visible or infrared light and produces a conventional-looking image.

Thermal imaging: detects differences in heat and does not require visible or IR illumination.

Thermal generally has the advantage for immediately finding heat sources. Digital imaging has the advantage when visible details such as colour, markings, physical features and surrounding terrain are important.

3–36× Magnification

The NITE Pro D50R provides magnification from 3× up to 36×.

The 3× starting magnification is significantly lower than the D70R's 5× base magnification, giving the NITE Pro a broader initial view of the surrounding ground.

This makes locating and following subjects easier at shorter and medium distances while the huge 48MP sensor gives the D50R substantial image information to work with when magnification is increased.

The result is a very flexible viewing range rather than an optic focused purely on high magnification.

15.4 × 13m Field of View at 100m

The D50R provides an angular field of view of 8.8° × 7.4°, equivalent to approximately 15.4 × 13 metres at 100 metres.

This is considerably wider than the D70R's 10 × 10m field of view at the same distance.

A wider field of view makes it easier to search ground, acquire targets, follow movement and maintain awareness of what is happening around the subject.

Angular FOV 8.8° × 7.4°
Linear FOV @100m 15.4 × 13m
Base Magnification 3×
1.03-Inch 2560×2560 OLED Vision+ Display

The NITE Pro uses an unusually large 1.03-inch 2560×2560 OLED display.

NocPix states that the display provides approximately 45% more screen area than a conventional 0.6-inch display, creating a larger and more immersive viewing experience.

The extremely high display resolution is particularly appropriate for a scope using a 48MP imaging sensor because it gives the viewing system more ability to reproduce the detail being captured by the sensor.

OLED technology also provides deep blacks and strong contrast, while the larger viewing area can reduce the feeling of looking through a small electronic screen.

60mm Eye Relief & Viewing Comfort

NocPix combines the large Vision+ display with 60mm eye relief and a 6mm exit pupil.

Eye Relief 60mm
Exit Pupil 6mm
Display 1.03-inch OLED
Display Resolution 2560×2560

The system is designed to provide a comfortable and immersive view during longer periods behind the scope.

Target Sync – Range & Aim at the Same Point

Target Sync is one of the most important new technologies introduced with NITE Pro.

On some digital scopes, the laser rangefinder's measuring point and the riflescope reticle do not occupy exactly the same position. This can mean ranging a subject and then moving back to the actual aiming point.

NocPix Target Sync allows the optical axis of the integrated LRF to be mechanically aligned with the reticle so that, once calibrated, the aiming point and ranging point correspond.

This creates a more natural workflow: place the reticle on the intended point, range it and retain the same sight picture rather than moving between two separate points.

Target Sync is particularly useful when precise ranging and rapid target acquisition need to happen in one continuous movement.

Integrated 1,200m Laser Rangefinder

The NITE Pro D50R incorporates a high-precision laser rangefinder directly into the riflescope.

NocPix specifies a maximum ranging capability of up to 1,200 metres under suitable conditions.

The rangefinder is integrated without giving the D50R the bulky appearance of a large external LRF module, helping it retain the shape and handling of a conventional riflescope.

Accurate range information is particularly useful at night, when normal visual landmarks and depth cues become far less reliable.

Built-In Ballistic Calculation

The integrated LRF works alongside the NITE Pro's onboard ballistic calculation system.

The system supports multiple calibres and can use measured range together with the configured ballistic data to provide holdover and correction references.

This combines range measurement and ballistic assistance in the same optic, removing the need to switch between separate devices.

Ballistic calculation should always be treated as an aiming aid. Correct zeroing, verified ammunition information, positive target identification and a safe backstop remain essential.

Central Focus System

The D50R uses a centrally positioned focus wheel rather than requiring the shooter to reach forward to the objective lens.

This allows focus to be adjusted using the supporting hand while remaining in the normal shooting position.

The arrangement reduces unnecessary movement and can make rapid refocusing between different distances considerably easier.

For a day/night optic that may be used across widely changing ranges, this is a useful practical feature rather than simply an ergonomic detail.

1-Second Rapid Startup

NocPix states that the NITE Pro can start in approximately one second.

This reduces the delay between powering up the optic and being able to use it, making it practical to leave the unit switched off when not immediately required without a long boot sequence when an opportunity appears.

Built-In + Replaceable 18650 Battery System

The NITE Pro uses a dual-power architecture combining an internal rechargeable battery with a replaceable rechargeable 18650 battery.

This arrangement allows the user to swap the removable battery in the field while retaining the benefit of internal power.

NocPix has also introduced a polarity-free replaceable battery design. The removable battery can be inserted in either orientation, which makes battery changes easier in darkness because the user does not need to check polarity before insertion.

Power system: built-in rechargeable battery + replaceable rechargeable 18650 battery.

Practical advantage: carry charged spare 18650 batteries for extended sessions rather than depending entirely on a sealed internal battery.

Actual operating time will vary with ambient temperature, screen settings and use of functions such as the LRF, recording, Wi-Fi and external IR illumination.

Magnesium-Alloy Body & Recoil Resistance

NocPix builds the NITE Pro around a full magnesium-alloy housing.

Magnesium alloy provides a strong and rigid structure while keeping weight relatively low. NocPix states that the finished scope weighs less than 1,000g.

The D50R is also tested for recoil energy up to 7,000 joules, giving it a substantial recoil specification for a digital riflescope.

Body Material Magnesium alloy
Weight Under 1,000g
Recoil Rating Tested up to 7,000J
NITE Pro D50R vs NITE D70R

The D50R is not simply a replacement for the D70R with a shorter lens. The newer NITE Pro platform makes a substantial jump in sensor resolution, low-light optics, display technology and overall ergonomics.

Sensor D50R: 8000×6000 / 48MP
D70R: 3536×3536 / 12MP
Pixel Size D50R: 1.2μm
D70R: 2μm
Frame Rate Both 60Hz
Lens D50R: 50mm F1.25
D70R: 70mm F2.0
Magnification D50R: 3–36×
D70R: 5–40×
FOV @100m D50R: 15.4 × 13m
D70R: 10 × 10m
Eye Relief D50R: 60mm
D70R: 48mm
LRF Both integrated, up to 1,200m

The D70R's 70mm lens and 5× starting magnification give it a distinctly long-range character.

The NITE Pro D50R is the more advanced all-round system. It starts at 3×, offers a significantly wider field of view, uses a much faster F1.25 lens and captures approximately four times as many image pixels.

Choose D70R: if you specifically like the 70mm lens, 5× base magnification and long-range-biased view.

Choose NITE Pro D50R: if you want the newer flagship sensor, wider view, stronger low-light optics and premium viewing system.

NITE Pro vs Thermal Scope

NITE Pro and a thermal riflescope create images in fundamentally different ways.

NITE Pro Uses visible and infrared light
Thermal Scope Detects differences in heat
NITE Pro Day Image Natural full-colour digital image
Thermal Day Image Thermal colour palette
Complete Darkness NITE may require IR illumination
Thermal in Darkness No external illumination required

Thermal remains extremely effective for locating animals because heat sources can stand out dramatically from the surrounding ground.

NITE Pro is particularly strong when the user wants a conventional visible image and needs to see fine details such as colour, shape, texture and markings.

NITE Pro: best where visual identification and genuine daytime use are major priorities.

Thermal: best where rapid heat detection in darkness is the main requirement.

NocPix App & Connectivity

The NITE Pro can be used with the NocPix mobile app for additional device and media functionality.

NocPix states that supported app functions include live image preview, remote setting adjustment, saving and uploading zeroing or ballistic data, downloading captured photos and videos and installing firmware updates.

Firmware updates can therefore be delivered through the app without requiring a computer when a compatible update is available.

Who Should Buy the NITE Pro D50R?

The NITE Pro D50R is aimed at customers who want premium digital day and night performance rather than simply the lowest-cost route into night vision.

It is particularly well suited to:

  • Customers wanting one scope for both daytime and night use
  • Users who value fine visible target detail
  • Customers who regularly use digital magnification
  • Mixed-distance shooting where a 3× base view is useful
  • Users wanting strong twilight colour performance
  • Customers wanting integrated LRF and ballistic calculation
  • Users who value a large premium eyepiece display
  • Existing digital-night-vision users wanting a major resolution upgrade

If detecting heat through darkness, vegetation or difficult backgrounds is the primary requirement, consider a NocPix thermal riflescope instead. If you want genuine colour daytime use and highly detailed digital imagery into darkness, the NITE Pro is the more appropriate platform.
