The Umarex RDS 6 Red Dot Sight is a compact enclosed electronic optic designed for fast, intuitive target acquisition on compatible air rifles, airsoft equipment and recreational shooting platforms. Its enclosed tubular construction helps protect the optical system, making it a practical alternative to open reflex sights for regular use and transport.

Featuring selectable red and green illumination, a 6 MOA aiming dot and five brightness settings for each colour, the RDS 6 provides flexibility across different target backgrounds and lighting conditions. The integrated Picatinny-compatible mounting base allows straightforward installation on suitable rails, while the included CR2032 battery powers the illuminated reticle. Protective lens caps, adjustable windage and elevation, and a compact 66 mm body complete this versatile red dot sight.

Red & Green Illumination

The RDS 6 offers a selectable illuminated aiming dot in either red or green.

Both colours have five brightness settings, allowing the user to adjust illumination intensity according to the surrounding light and target background.

Red illumination provides a familiar aiming reference, while green may be easier for some users to distinguish against certain backgrounds.

The illumination controls allow the preferred colour and brightness level to be selected.

Switch off the illumination after use to preserve battery life.

6 MOA Dot & 1× Magnification

The RDS 6 uses a 6 MOA illuminated dot intended to provide a clear aiming reference during close-range target acquisition.

At 100 yards, a 6 MOA dot covers approximately 6.3 inches, with proportionally smaller coverage at shorter distances.

This makes the sight particularly suitable for recreational target shooting and other applications where fast alignment is important.

The 1× viewing arrangement does not magnify the target, allowing a natural field of view and convenient both-eyes-open aiming.

The sight is parallax-adjusted to 10 metres, although some parallax error may remain at other distances.

Enclosed Design & Lens Protection

The RDS 6 houses its optical system within an enclosed tubular body, rather than the exposed viewing arrangement used by open reflex sights.

This provides a more protected design for regular handling and transport.

Protective lens caps are supplied to help keep dust and dirt away from the lenses during storage.

Although the sight is designed for practical use, care should still be taken to avoid impacts, abrasive contamination and unsuitable cleaning products.

Keep the lens caps fitted when the sight is not in use.

Picatinny Mounting & Compatibility

The Umarex RDS 6 features an integrated mounting base for compatible Picatinny-style rails.

This makes it suitable for selected air rifles, airsoft platforms and other equipment with the appropriate mounting interface.

Before fitting, confirm that your equipment has a suitable rail and enough clearance around the optic.

An 11 mm dovetail rail is not the same as a Picatinny rail and may require a separate conversion adapter.

Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions and check that all fixings are secure.

Recoil characteristics vary between platforms, so compatibility should be confirmed before installation on equipment with significant or unusual recoil.

Windage, Elevation & Zeroing

The RDS 6 provides windage and elevation adjustments to align the illuminated dot with the equipment's point of impact.

The adjustment mechanisms are protected by removable covers.

After installing the sight, begin zeroing at a suitable distance in a safe, authorised shooting environment.

Make small corrections and confirm the point of impact before making further adjustments.

Once zeroed, replace the adjustment covers and check that the mount remains secure.

Recheck the sight's zero periodically, particularly after transport or remounting.

CR2032 Battery & Replacement

The RDS 6 uses one CR2032 lithium coin-cell battery, included with the sight.

The battery compartment is accessible from the side, allowing replacement without removing the sight from its mounting rail.

This reduces the need to disturb the mounting arrangement during routine battery changes.

Actual battery life depends on illumination colour, brightness setting, temperature and battery condition.

Switch off the illumination after use and follow the manufacturer's instructions when replacing the battery.

Keep coin-cell batteries away from children and dispose of used batteries responsibly.

Care & Maintenance
  • Keep the protective lens caps fitted during storage.
  • Remove loose dust using a suitable optics blower or soft brush.
  • Clean lenses with an appropriate microfibre optics cloth.
  • Inspect mounting screws and rail connections periodically.
  • Keep the battery compartment clean and dry.
  • Switch off illumination after use.
  • Remove the battery before prolonged storage.
  • Avoid harsh solvents, impacts and unauthorised dismantling.

Check the sight's zero after significant impacts or changes to the mounting arrangement.
