The Schöffel Grimsthorpe Clay Vest in True Navy is a dedicated shooting waistcoat designed for unrestricted movement and easy access to cartridges on the clay ground. Developed with feedback from experienced shooters, it combines a lightweight, practical construction with the smart appearance expected from Schöffel Country.
The sleeveless design leaves the arms and shoulders free for a natural gun mount, while large double bellows cartridge pockets keep ammunition close at hand. Recoil-pad pockets are incorporated into both shoulders for left- or right-handed use, and the quick-drying outer fabric features a PFC-free water-repellent finish for protection in changeable conditions.

DESIGNED FOR CLAY SHOOTING +
The Grimsthorpe Clay Vest is a dedicated shooting garment rather than a general outdoor gilet. Its sleeveless construction provides excellent freedom around the arms and shoulders, helping the gun move naturally into the shoulder during repeated mounting.
DOUBLE BELLOWS CARTRIDGE POCKETS +
Two generously sized double bellows pockets provide easy access to cartridges without restricting movement. Drainage holes allow rainwater and moisture to escape rather than collecting at the bottom of the pockets.
LEFT & RIGHT RECOIL PAD POCKETS +
Dedicated recoil-pad pockets are positioned in both shoulders. This allows a compatible recoil pad to be fitted on either side, making the Grimsthorpe equally practical for left- and right-handed shooters.
WATER-REPELLENT & QUICK DRYING +
The durable outer material is quick drying and incorporates a PFC-free water-repellent treatment. This provides useful protection from light showers and damp conditions without adding the weight of a waterproof membrane.

Choosing between the Grimsthorpe Vest and Jacket mainly comes down to weather protection and how you prefer to layer your shooting clothing.
Grimsthorpe Clay Vest: offers maximum freedom around the arms and shoulders and can easily be worn over a shirt, jumper or fleece. It also features recoil-pad pockets on both shoulders. The fabric is water-repellent, but the vest is not fully waterproof.
Grimsthorpe Clay Jacket: adds full sleeves and Schöffel's waterproof Venturi® membrane. Choose the Jacket when greater protection from prolonged rain and wind is more important.
