The NocPix ACE H50 Thermal Imaging Scope is a premium 640×512 thermal riflescope built around a fast 50mm F0.9 germanium objective lens, highly sensitive ≤15mK detector and smooth 60Hz refresh rate. With 3× base magnification, up to 24× total magnification and a manufacturer-stated detection range of up to 2,600 metres, the H50 is designed for shooters who need high-resolution thermal performance across open ground and at extended observation distances.
Unlike the ACE H50R, the standard H50 does not incorporate a laser rangefinder. Instead, it concentrates on the core thermal and optical performance of the 640×512 H-series platform. That makes it particularly attractive to users who already use a separate rangefinder or simply do not require built-in ranging and want the 50mm ACE thermal platform without paying for an integrated LRF.
The H50 combines its thermal detector with NocPix Reality+ image processing, the Vision+ viewing system and a high-resolution 2560×2560 AMOLED display. It also incorporates NocPix's ocular zoom system, a dual internal/removable battery arrangement, 64GB internal storage, photo and video recording, recoil-activated video, Wi-Fi connectivity, IP67 protection and compatibility with conventional 30mm scope rings.

640×512 Thermal Sensor & ≤15mK NETD
At the heart of the ACE H50 is a 640×512 thermal detector with a 12μm pixel pitch. Compared with lower-resolution 384×288 thermal systems, the 640 sensor captures substantially more thermal information, helping produce a more detailed image and giving the user more information when observing distant heat sources.
The detector is rated at ≤15mK NETD thermal sensitivity. NETD describes the detector's ability to distinguish small differences in temperature; lower values indicate greater sensitivity to subtle thermal variations.
This becomes particularly useful when the target and its surroundings are at similar temperatures, such as during damp, misty, overcast or mild conditions when thermal contrast can be reduced.
The sensor operates at 60Hz, helping moving targets and fast scanning appear smooth rather than noticeably stepping between frames.
50mm F0.9 Lens & 2,600m Detection
The H50 pairs its 640×512 detector with a 50mm F0.9 germanium objective lens. The fast F0.9 aperture allows a high level of infrared energy to reach the detector, complementing the ≤15mK sensor.
The 50mm focal length gives the H50 a 3× starting magnification and an 8.8° × 7.0° field of view, equivalent to approximately 15.4m × 12.3m at 100 metres.
NocPix specifies a maximum thermal detection range of up to 2,600 metres using a standard 1.7m × 0.5m target at P(n)=99%.
Detection range should not be confused with identification range. At the maximum detection distance, the scope is intended to establish that a heat source is present. The distance at which the target can be recognised or positively identified will be shorter and varies with target size, weather, atmospheric conditions and thermal contrast.
3–24× Magnification & Ocular Zoom
The ACE H50 provides a 3× base magnification with an overall magnification range of 3–24×.
A particularly distinctive ACE feature is its ocular zoom system. Rather than relying exclusively on electronic enlargement of the thermal image, the ACE incorporates an adjustable optical eyepiece system with 1–3× ocular zoom.
This gives the shooter another way to adjust the apparent viewing scale through the eyepiece and is one of the major features distinguishing the ACE platform from more conventional thermal riflescope designs.
The H50's combination of a 50mm objective and 3× base magnification makes it particularly well suited to open ground and medium-to-longer-range thermal observation.
2560×2560 AMOLED Vision+ Display
The H50 uses a high-resolution 2560×2560 AMOLED display as part of NocPix's Vision+ viewing system.
The unusually high display resolution is designed to provide a detailed, immersive view through the eyepiece and make full use of the information supplied by the 640×512 thermal sensor.
| Display Type | AMOLED |
| Display Resolution | 2560×2560 |
| Eye Relief | 50mm |
| Exit Pupil | 8mm |
| Dioptre Adjustment | -5D to +5D |
Reality+ Image Processing & Shutterless Design
NocPix combines the H50's high-resolution detector with its Reality+ image-processing technology to improve image presentation, detail and thermal contrast.
The ACE platform also uses a shutterless design. Conventional thermal devices may periodically interrupt the image while performing calibration. The ACE system is designed to minimise disruption to the viewing experience, which is particularly useful when continuously observing or tracking a moving target.
Together with the H50's 60Hz sensor, the result is a thermal image designed to remain fluid and usable during active observation.
Dual Battery System & 7-Hour Runtime
The ACE H50 uses a dual-power arrangement rather than relying solely on one removable battery.
Inside the scope is a built-in 4000mAh rechargeable battery. This is supplemented by a replaceable rechargeable 18650 battery, giving the scope two power sources.
NocPix specifies a maximum operating time of up to 7 hours at 22°C. Actual operating time varies according to temperature and the frequency with which functions such as Wi-Fi, photography and video recording are used.
| Internal Battery | Built-in 4000mAh rechargeable battery |
| Replaceable Battery | Rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery |
| Maximum Stated Runtime | Up to 7 hours at 22°C |
| External Power | 5V USB Type-C |
The dual arrangement is useful during longer sessions because the removable 18650 can be exchanged while the integrated battery provides an additional onboard power reserve.
64GB Storage, Recording & Recoil-Activated Video
The ACE H50 incorporates 64GB of internal storage and supports photography, video and audio recording.
Recoil-activated video recording allows the scope to automatically capture footage around the moment a shot is detected, reducing the need to manually begin recording before every opportunity.
A built-in Gallery function allows captured footage to be reviewed directly through the device, while Wi-Fi and app support provide connectivity with a compatible mobile device.
This makes the recording system useful both for retaining memorable footage and for reviewing thermal observations after use.
30mm Tube Mounting
The NocPix ACE H50 uses a conventional 30mm tube mounting system.
This means the scope can be installed using suitable 30mm scope rings rather than requiring a proprietary integrated rail mount.
The traditional riflescope-style format gives considerable flexibility when choosing ring height and positioning the optic to achieve the correct eye relief on a compatible platform.
Mounting interface: standard 30mm tube.
Important: suitable 30mm rings or a compatible mount are required to attach the scope.
Recoil Resistance & Durability
The ACE H50 is designed as a dedicated thermal riflescope rather than a handheld monocular adapted for weapon use.
NocPix specifies recoil resistance of up to 6,000 joules for the ACE platform. The body is constructed from high-strength aluminium alloy and the scope carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating.
Its specified operating-temperature range is -20°C to +50°C, allowing the scope to operate across a broad range of outdoor conditions.
H50 vs H50R – Do You Need the LRF?
The ACE H50 and H50R share the same core 640×512, 12μm thermal sensor, ≤15mK sensitivity, 60Hz refresh rate, 50mm F0.9 objective lens, 3–24× magnification and 2,600m stated detection range.
The major difference is ranging.
| ACE H50 | 640×512 | 50mm F0.9 | 3–24× | No integrated LRF |
| ACE H50R | 640×512 | 50mm F0.9 | 3–24× | Integrated Class 1 LRF up to 1,200m |
Choose the H50: if you want the 640×512 50mm ACE platform but do not need an integrated laser rangefinder.
Choose the H50R: if you want essentially the same core thermal performance with built-in distance measurement and ballistic calculation support.
H50 vs L35 – 640 or 384?
The H50 represents a significant step up from the entry-level ACE L35 in both sensor resolution and longer-range capability.
| ACE L35 | 384×288 | ≤18mK | 35mm F0.9 | 4–16× | 1,800m detection |
| ACE H50 | 640×512 | ≤15mK | 50mm F0.9 | 3–24× | 2,600m detection |
The H50's 640×512 detector contains substantially more thermal pixels than the L35's 384×288 detector, while its 50mm objective provides greater detection reach.
The L35 starts at a higher 4× native magnification and remains a useful lower-cost option. The H50 is the stronger choice when image detail, thermal sensitivity and overall longer-range performance take priority.
H50 vs S60R – Which ACE Is Right for You?
The S60R is the flagship model of the original ACE generation and represents a substantial step up from the H50.
| ACE H50 | 640×512 | ≤15mK | 50mm F0.9 | 3–24× | 2,600m detection | No LRF |
| ACE S60R | 1280×1024 | ≤15mK | 60mm F1.0 | 2–24× | 3,100m detection | 1,200m LRF |
The S60R's 1280×1024 sensor contains four times the thermal pixel count of a 640×512 detector. Despite using a longer 60mm objective, it also provides a much wider field of view because of the significantly larger sensor.
The H50 remains the more accessible option for users who want premium 640-resolution thermal performance without paying for the S60R's 1280 sensor and integrated rangefinder.
Original ACE H50 vs ACE 2
The ACE H50 belongs to the original NocPix ACE generation. The newer ACE 2 range is a separate next-generation family and should not be confused with this model.
The original H50 remains a high-specification 640×512 thermal riflescope with a 50mm F0.9 lens, ≤15mK sensitivity, 60Hz refresh rate, ocular zoom, dual batteries and the high-resolution 2560×2560 Vision+ display.
The newer ACE 2 family introduces further developments including ≤12mK thermal sensitivity and other platform updates. Whether those upgrades justify moving to ACE 2 depends on the model being compared and the price difference.
For customers comparing generations, the original ACE H50 can therefore remain a particularly strong-value route into the 640×512 ACE platform.
