The NocPix ACE S60R Thermal Imaging Scope with LRF is the flagship model of the original ACE thermal riflescope generation, combining an ultra-high-resolution 1280×1024 thermal detector with a large 60mm F1.0 germanium objective lens, integrated laser rangefinder and built-in ballistic calculation.

The S60R's 1280×1024, 12μm detector contains four times as many thermal pixels as a 640×512 sensor, giving the scope exceptional native image detail and allowing it to maintain a surprisingly wide field of view despite its large 60mm objective. With 2× base magnification, a 14.7° × 11.7° viewing angle and a manufacturer-stated detection range of up to 3,100 metres, it combines wide-area scanning with genuine long-range capability.

An integrated Class 1 laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1,200 metres with ±1m stated accuracy, while ballistic calculation uses range data as part of the scope's aiming system. NocPix's Reality+ image processing, Vision+ viewing system, 2560×2560 AMOLED display, ocular zoom, dual battery system, 64GB storage and recoil-activated video recording complete what remains an exceptionally capable premium thermal riflescope.

1280×1024 Flagship Thermal Sensor

The defining feature of the original ACE S60R is its 1280×1024 thermal imaging detector with a 12μm pixel pitch.

A 1280×1024 detector contains approximately 1.31 million thermal pixels. By comparison, a 640×512 detector contains approximately 327,000 pixels. This means the S60R captures around four times as many individual thermal data points as a 640×512 system.

That additional native resolution can provide substantially more scene information and finer target detail, especially when observing more distant heat sources or applying magnification.

The large sensor is also what allows NocPix to combine a 60mm long-range objective with a genuinely wide field of view rather than forcing the user into an excessively narrow viewing window.

≤15mK NETD Thermal Sensitivity

The S60R's thermal detector is rated at ≤15mK NETD.

NETD describes the thermal detector's ability to distinguish very small differences in temperature. A lower NETD figure indicates greater sensitivity to subtle temperature variations within the scene.

This becomes particularly useful in difficult thermal conditions including damp, foggy, overcast or mild weather, where an animal and the surrounding environment may have relatively little temperature difference.

High sensor resolution and good thermal sensitivity perform different jobs: resolution determines how much spatial information the detector can capture, while NETD affects how effectively subtle temperature differences can be distinguished.

60mm F1.0 Lens & 3,100m Detection

The S60R uses a large 60mm F1.0 germanium objective lens designed to provide strong long-distance thermal performance.

Despite the long focal length, the huge 1280×1024 sensor gives the S60R a wide 14.7° × 11.7° field of view.

At 100 metres this corresponds to an observed area of approximately 25.6m × 20.5m — considerably wider than might normally be expected from a 60mm thermal riflescope.

NocPix specifies thermal detection of a standard 1.7m × 0.5m target at distances of up to 3,100 metres.

Thermal detection: up to 3,100m

Laser ranging: up to 1,200m

Detection range is not the same as recognition or positive identification distance. At extreme range, the scope may establish that a heat source is present without providing enough information to positively identify exactly what that heat source is.

2–24× Magnification & Ocular Zoom

The ACE S60R begins at only 2× base magnification despite using a 60mm objective lens.

This is possible because of its much larger 1280×1024 detector. The result is a particularly useful combination: a wide scanning view at base magnification combined with significant sensor resolution and long-range detection capability.

The overall magnification range extends from 2× to 24×.

The original ACE platform also incorporates NocPix's 1–3× ocular zoom system, allowing the apparent scale of the displayed image to be adjusted through the eyepiece as well as through conventional electronic magnification.

Unlike simply applying more digital zoom, ocular magnification works on the viewed display image itself, helping provide a more natural viewing experience.

Wide 25.6m Field of View at 100m

One of the S60R's biggest advantages over more conventional long-focal-length thermal scopes is its field of view.

The 1280×1024 sensor and 60mm objective produce a 14.7° × 11.7° field of view, equivalent to approximately 25.6m × 20.5m at 100 metres.

For comparison, the original ACE H50R shows approximately 15.4m × 12.3m at the same distance.

This means the S60R can actually show substantially more of the surrounding landscape despite using the longer 60mm objective lens.

That makes target acquisition, scanning and following moving animals considerably easier than the 60mm specification alone might suggest.

Integrated 1,200m Laser Rangefinder

The ACE S60R incorporates a Class 1 laser rangefinder directly into the riflescope.

NocPix specifies a maximum measuring distance of up to 1,200 metres with ±1 metre stated accuracy.

The rangefinder is aligned with the optical system, allowing distance to be measured while continuing to observe the target through the thermal sight.

This is particularly useful at night because darkness and thermal imagery can make unaided distance estimation considerably more difficult than it is during normal daylight observation.

Laser Rangefinder Integrated
Laser Safety Class Class 1
Maximum Measuring Range 1,200m
Stated Accuracy ±1m
Built-In Ballistic Calculation

The S60R supports built-in ballistic calculation alongside its integrated laser rangefinder.

Once suitable ballistic information has been entered and correctly configured, the scope can use measured range information as part of its ballistic solution.

This integrates distance measurement and aiming assistance into one system rather than requiring the shooter to transfer information manually between separate devices.

Current NocPix firmware for the original ACE platform has also increased the supported maximum ballistic-calculation distance to 1,999 metres.

Ballistic calculation remains an aiming aid and does not replace correct zeroing, verified ammunition data, safe shooting practices or positive target identification.

2560×2560 AMOLED Vision+ Display

The ACE S60R presents its thermal image through NocPix's Vision+ viewing system and a large circular AMOLED display.

The display has a resolution of 2560×2560 pixels, providing an exceptionally high-resolution viewing surface for the detailed information captured by the 1280×1024 thermal detector.

This high display resolution is particularly relevant on the S60R because a lower-resolution viewing panel could otherwise restrict the benefit of its exceptionally high-resolution thermal sensor.

Display Type AMOLED
Display Resolution 2560×2560
Eye Relief 50mm
Exit Pupil 8mm
Dioptre Adjustment -5D to +5D
Reality+ Processing & Shutterless Imaging

NocPix's Reality+ image-processing technology works with the 1280×1024 detector to improve thermal-image presentation, suppress environmental temperature noise and enhance useful scene detail.

The ACE platform also incorporates a shutterless imaging design intended to minimise interruption to the image during observation.

This is particularly useful when following moving animals because conventional calibration events on some thermal devices can temporarily interrupt the viewed scene.

The S60R's detector operates at 50Hz, providing smooth thermal movement during scanning and target tracking.

Dual Battery System & 6-Hour Runtime

The original ACE S60R uses a dual battery arrangement consisting of an integrated rechargeable battery and a separate removable battery.

The internal battery has a capacity of 4000mAh, while the removable power source is a rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery.

NocPix specifies a maximum operating time of up to 6 hours at 22°C for the S60R.

Internal Battery Built-in 4000mAh rechargeable battery
Replaceable Battery Rechargeable 18650 Li-ion battery
Maximum Stated Runtime Up to 6 hours at 22°C
External Power 5V USB Type-C

The dual arrangement means a discharged removable battery can be exchanged while the scope retains its separate internal battery.

Actual operating time depends on ambient temperature and the use of power-intensive functions including Wi-Fi and recording.

64GB Storage, Recording & RAV

The ACE S60R includes 64GB of internal storage and supports thermal photography and video recording.

Audio recording is also supported through the scope's built-in microphone.

Recoil Activated Video, commonly abbreviated to RAV, allows the scope to automatically capture footage associated with a detected shot, reducing the need to manually begin recording before every opportunity.

A built-in Gallery allows stored footage to be reviewed directly through the scope.

Wi-Fi and app connectivity also provide compatible smartphone connectivity for supported functions.

30mm Tube Mounting

This product is the standard original ACE S60R and uses a conventional 30mm scope tube.

It is therefore installed using suitable 30mm scope rings or another compatible 30mm mounting solution.

This allows ring height and optic position to be selected according to the rifle and required eye relief.

This listing: standard ACE S60R with 30mm tube.

Different product: ACE S60R RM, which uses NocPix's dedicated rail-mount architecture.

6,000J Recoil Resistance & IP67 Protection

The original ACE S60R is built as a dedicated thermal riflescope rather than a handheld thermal adapted for mounted use.

NocPix specifies recoil resistance of up to 6,000 joules for the original ACE platform.

The scope carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating and has a specified operating-temperature range of -20°C to +50°C.

Ingress Protection IP67
Operating Temperature -20°C to +50°C
Maximum Recoil Energy 6,000J

S60R vs H50R – Is 1280×1024 Worth It?

The S60R and H50R are both premium original-generation ACE scopes with integrated laser ranging and ballistic calculation, but the S60R represents a major upgrade in sensor resolution.

ACE H50R 640×512 | ≤15mK | 50mm F0.9 | 3–24× | 2,600m detection
ACE S60R 1280×1024 | ≤15mK | 60mm F1.0 | 2–24× | 3,100m detection

The S60R contains approximately four times as many thermal pixels as the H50R. This gives it substantially more native image information and allows it to retain a wider field of view despite using a longer 60mm objective lens.

ACE H50R FOV @100m 15.4m × 12.3m
ACE S60R FOV @100m 25.6m × 20.5m

Choose the H50R: if you want premium 640×512 thermal performance, integrated ranging and a lower purchase price.

Choose the S60R: if maximum native thermal resolution, wide-field detail and flagship image quality are the priorities.

S60R vs H50 – How Big Is the Upgrade?

The S60R represents a substantial step up from the standard H50 in resolution, field of view, detection distance and ranging capability.

ACE H50 640×512 | 50mm F0.9 | 3–24× | 2,600m | No LRF
ACE S60R 1280×1024 | 60mm F1.0 | 2–24× | 3,100m | 1,200m LRF

The H50 remains a highly capable 640-resolution thermal scope. The S60R is aimed at users who want the maximum sensor resolution available in the original ACE range together with integrated ranging and ballistic calculation.

S60R Standard vs S60R RM

The standard S60R shown on this page and the S60R RM share the same underlying thermal concept, including the 1280×1024 detector, 60mm F1.0 objective and integrated laser rangefinder.

The major difference is the mounting architecture.

ACE S60R Traditional 30mm scope tube
ACE S60R RM Dedicated NocPix rail-mount system

Choose the standard S60R: if you want conventional 30mm ring mounting and the freedom to choose your own mount height and position.

Choose the S60R RM: if you specifically want NocPix's dedicated rail-mount architecture.

Original ACE S60R vs ACE 2 S60R

The ACE S60R shown here is the flagship of the original ACE generation. The ACE 2 S60R is the newer-generation replacement and should be treated as a separate model.

Original ACE S60R 1280×1024 | ≤15mK | 50Hz | 60mm F1.0 | 2–24×
ACE 2 S60R 1280×1024 | ≤12mK | 30/60Hz | 60mm F1.0 | 2–20×

The newer ACE 2 moves to a more sensitive ≤12mK detector and introduces NocPix's newer R+ 2.0 imaging, Ocular Zoom 2.0, LRF 2.0 and Ballistic Calculation 2.0 technologies.

ACE 2 is also considerably lighter, with NocPix stating that the new platform is approximately 25% lighter than the previous generation and weighs under 1kg.

The original S60R nevertheless remains an exceptionally high-specification 1280×1024 thermal riflescope. Where there is a substantial price difference between generations, it can still represent a very strong route into 1280-resolution thermal imaging.
