The NocPix NITE D70R is a premium digital day and night riflescope combining an exceptionally detailed 3536 × 3536-pixel imaging sensor with a 70mm F2.0 objective lens, integrated laser rangefinder and conventional 30mm scope tube.
Unlike a thermal riflescope, which detects differences in heat, the NITE D70R produces a detailed digital image using visible and infrared light. It delivers full-colour viewing during daylight, performs in very low ambient light and can be paired with compatible infrared illumination for operation in complete darkness.
With 5–40× continuous magnification, a 60Hz frame rate, a built-in 1,200m laser rangefinder, ballistic calculation and a dual-battery power system, the D70R is designed for users who want a dedicated day and night optic with familiar riflescope handling.

30mm Scope Tube & Mounting Requirements
The NocPix NITE D70R features a conventional 30mm riflescope tube. It requires mounting rings with a 30mm internal diameter.
Required ring diameter: 30mm.
The correct mount height and base attachment depend on the rifle, rail arrangement and clearance around the scope's large objective housing.
For rifles with a suitable Picatinny or Weaver rail, select compatible 30mm rings designed for that rail. For rifles with a dovetail rail, select the appropriate 30mm dovetail mounts.
The NITE D70R does not use a 34mm scope tube. Do not select 34mm rings for this model.
Mounting rings are not listed in the manufacturer's standard package contents. Rings must be purchased separately or obtained through an applicable retailer promotion.
Where the Bamfords free Hawke Match Mounts offer applies, add the appropriate 30mm two-piece mounts to your basket. The promotional discount will be applied according to the offer conditions.
Because of the D70R's substantial objective housing, confirm mount height and rifle clearance before ordering. Contact Bamfords Online if you need help choosing the correct mounts.
12MP 4K Ultra Digital Imaging Sensor
The NITE D70R uses a 3536 × 3536-pixel digital imaging sensor with a 2μm pixel size.
This provides approximately 12.5 million pixels of image information, allowing the scope to reproduce fine visible detail during daylight and under suitable low-light conditions.
The high-resolution sensor is particularly useful for distinguishing shapes, markings and surrounding terrain.
Unlike thermal imaging, the D70R relies on available visible or infrared light rather than detecting emitted heat.
70mm F2.0 Objective Lens
The large 70mm F2.0 objective lens is designed to support detailed viewing at medium and longer distances.
Combined with the 5× starting magnification, the lens provides a relatively concentrated field of view, making the D70R more suitable for detailed observation than wide-area scanning.
Actual image clarity depends on light, atmospheric conditions, target contrast and magnification.
5–40× Continuous Magnification
The NITE D70R offers a continuous magnification range from 5× to 40×.
The 5× base magnification gives distant subjects a useful initial image scale, while progressive zoom adjustment allows the user to increase magnification without being restricted to fixed steps.
As with other digital optics, very high magnification can reduce apparent image detail. The best usable magnification depends on viewing conditions and distance.
Daylight, Low Light & Infrared Night Vision
During daylight, the NITE D70R produces a full-colour digital image. In low ambient light, its sensitive imaging system continues to provide viewing capability as conditions become darker.
In complete darkness, the scope requires suitable infrared illumination to provide reflected light for its digital sensor.
Compatible NocPix illumination accessories are available in 850nm and 940nm configurations.
- 850nm infrared generally prioritises illumination performance and usable range.
- 940nm infrared generally provides a less conspicuous illuminator glow.
The effective viewing distance depends on the illuminator, weather, target size and environmental conditions.
An IR torch is not listed in the standard manufacturer's box contents. The IR torch included in the Bamfords special offer is a separate promotional accessory.
Integrated 1,200m Laser Rangefinder
The D70R incorporates an integrated laser rangefinder with a manufacturer-stated maximum measurement distance of 1,200 metres.
This allows the user to obtain distance information without attaching a separate external rangefinding module.
Maximum ranging performance depends on target reflectivity, weather, lighting and other environmental factors.
The integrated LRF can also provide distance information for the onboard ballistic calculation system.
Ballistic Calculation & Precision Zeroing
The NITE D70R includes onboard ballistic calculation designed to work alongside its integrated laser rangefinder.
The scope also offers fine digital zeroing adjustment, with NocPix specifying a 0.3 MOA-per-click adjustment value.
Correct zeroing, accurate ammunition information and appropriate verification remain essential when using ballistic calculations.
1920 × 1200 AMOLED Display
The D70R uses a 0.72-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels.
This high-resolution viewing system helps reproduce the fine detail captured by the digital sensor.
The scope provides 48mm eye relief and a 10mm exit pupil, with a traditional circular viewing arrangement intended to feel familiar to users of conventional riflescopes.
Dual Battery System & Runtime
The NITE D70R uses two power sources: an integrated rechargeable battery and a removable rechargeable 18650 battery.
The manufacturer's user manual specifies a 4,000mAh built-in battery together with the replaceable 18650 system.
NocPix specifies an operating time of at least seven hours under its stated test conditions at approximately 22°C.
Actual runtime varies with temperature, display settings, Wi-Fi, recording, laser rangefinder usage and other operating conditions.
Two rechargeable 18650 batteries and an 18650 battery charger are listed in the manufacturer's standard package.
The removable battery arrangement allows a charged replacement to be carried for longer sessions.
64GB Storage, Recording & Connectivity
The D70R includes 64GB of internal storage for captured images and recordings.
It supports photo and video recording, including recoil-activated recording functionality.
Wi-Fi connectivity provides access to supported wireless features, while the USB data connection can be used for compatible file-transfer and charging functions.
Storage capacity and recording duration depend on the selected recording settings and file sizes.
IP67 Protection & Construction
The NITE D70R is built for outdoor use and carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating.
This indicates protection against dust ingress and temporary immersion under the applicable test conditions.
The scope is designed for demanding outdoor environments, although care should still be taken to protect optical surfaces, connections and battery compartments.
The manufacturer's manual lists an operating temperature range of -20°C to +50°C.
NITE D70R vs Thermal Imaging
The NITE D70R and a thermal riflescope use fundamentally different imaging technologies.
| Feature | NITE D70R | Thermal Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Imaging method | Visible and infrared light | Detected heat differences |
| Daytime image | Natural-colour digital image | Thermal colour palette |
| Complete darkness | Requires suitable IR illumination | Does not require IR illumination |
| Visual markings | Can reproduce visible detail | Primarily shows temperature contrast |
| Heat detection | No | Yes |
Choose the NITE D70R if you prioritise a conventional-looking digital image for both day and night observation.
Choose thermal imaging if detecting heat sources without external illumination is the primary requirement.
