The NocPix ACE 2 S60R Thermal Imaging Scope with LRF is the flagship model in the next-generation ACE 2 thermal riflescope range, combining an ultra-high-resolution 1280×1024, 12μm thermal detector with a large 60mm F1.0 germanium objective lens. Designed for users who want maximum native thermal detail without sacrificing field of view, the S60R combines wide-area observation, strong long-range performance and advanced integrated ranging in one premium riflescope.

Its 1280×1024 detector contains approximately four times as many thermal pixels as a 640×512 sensor, providing substantially more native scene information before magnification is applied. Despite using a large 60mm objective lens, the S60R retains an exceptionally wide 14.7° × 11.7° field of view, equivalent to approximately 25.6 × 20.5 metres at 100 metres.

ACE 2 also introduces major platform improvements including ≤12mK thermal sensitivity, selectable 30/60Hz operation, R+ 2.0 image processing, Ocular Zoom 2.0, Integrated LRF 2.0, Ballistic Calculation 2.0, Dual-Clarity viewing modes, intelligent tracking, 60mm eye relief, a 10mm exit pupil, 5G Wi-Fi and a high-strength magnesium-alloy body weighing under 1kg.

1280×1024 Flagship Thermal Sensor

The ACE 2 S60R uses NocPix's flagship 1280×1024 thermal imaging detector with a 12μm pixel pitch.

A 1280×1024 detector contains approximately 1.31 million individual thermal pixels. By comparison, a 640×512 detector contains approximately 327,000 pixels.

This means the S60R captures around four times as many individual thermal data points as the H35R and H50R models.

The benefit is greater native detail before digital enlargement is applied, helping preserve smaller features and scene information when examining distant heat sources.

The unusually large detector also allows the S60R to combine a long 60mm objective lens with a very wide field of view, which is one of its most important advantages over conventional long-range thermal optics.

≤12mK NETD Thermal Sensitivity

The ACE 2 S60R uses a thermal detector rated at ≤12mK NETD.

NETD describes how effectively a thermal detector can distinguish very small differences in temperature. Lower values indicate greater thermal sensitivity.

This becomes particularly useful during difficult thermal conditions such as damp weather, mist, fog, overcast nights and mild temperatures where animals and surrounding terrain may have relatively similar surface temperatures.

The combination of very high 1280×1024 resolution and ≤12mK sensitivity allows the S60R to capture both fine spatial information and subtle differences in thermal contrast.

30/60Hz Selectable Frame Rate

The S60R supports selectable 30Hz and 60Hz operation.

60Hz prioritises smooth movement and is particularly useful when scanning quickly or following moving animals.

30Hz provides an alternative operating mode where maximum frame rate is not required.

The ability to switch between the two separates the flagship S60R from the H-series ACE 2 models, which operate at 60Hz.

60mm F1.0 Lens & Long-Range Performance

The ACE 2 S60R uses a large 60mm F1.0 germanium objective lens designed to provide strong long-distance thermal performance.

The combination of a 60mm focal length and 1280×1024 detector gives the S60R both reach and an unusually broad viewing area.

Objective Lens 60mm F1.0
Field of View 14.7° × 11.7°
Field of View at 100m 25.6 × 20.5m
Base Magnification 2×
Detection Range Up to approximately 3,100m

Detection range should not be confused with recognition or positive identification range. At extreme distances the scope may detect the presence of a heat source without providing enough detail to identify exactly what it is.

Exceptionally Wide Field of View

One of the S60R's biggest strengths is that it does not force the user to accept an extremely narrow image in return for a large 60mm objective lens.

The large 1280×1024 sensor produces a 14.7° × 11.7° viewing angle, equivalent to approximately 25.6 × 20.5 metres at 100 metres.

This is actually wider than the H50R's view despite the S60R having the longer objective lens.

The result is a thermal riflescope capable of scanning a broad area while still providing the sensor resolution and optical reach required for longer-distance observation.

2–20× Magnification

The ACE 2 S60R starts at just 2× magnification.

This relatively low starting magnification is possible because of the large 1280×1024 detector and is one of the main reasons the S60R remains so versatile despite its 60mm objective lens.

At 2×, the user retains an exceptionally broad view for locating heat sources and following movement. Magnification can then be increased when closer examination is required.

Because the sensor begins with substantially more native resolution than the 640×512 H-series models, the S60R also has more image information available before electronic magnification is applied.

Ocular Zoom 2.0

ACE 2 incorporates NocPix's Ocular Zoom 2.0 system.

Rather than relying entirely on electronic magnification, the system combines ocular adjustment with digital zoom to create a hybrid magnification system.

NocPix designed the system to retain reticle accuracy throughout the zoom range while providing a more natural viewing experience.

Hybrid Zoom can also be disabled in the Custom menu if the user prefers conventional digital zoom only.

R+ 2.0 AI Image Processing

The S60R combines its high-resolution detector with NocPix's upgraded R+ 2.0 image-processing algorithm.

The processing system is designed to enhance useful thermal detail, improve image cleanliness and retain realistic scene structure.

This becomes particularly valuable in complex backgrounds such as grass, woodland, hedges and uneven ground where preserving edges and subtle detail can make the scene easier to interpret.

Sensor resolution alone does not determine final image quality. Detector sensitivity, objective-lens performance, processing and display quality all contribute to what the user ultimately sees through the scope.

Integrated LRF 2.0

The ACE 2 S60R incorporates NocPix's upgraded Integrated LRF 2.0 laser rangefinder directly into the thermal riflescope.

NocPix states that LRF 2.0 provides sharper optics and substantially faster ranging performance in difficult conditions than the previous generation.

The S60R is capable of measuring distances to approximately 1,200 metres, allowing range information to be obtained without moving away from the thermal sight.

This is particularly useful at night because darkness removes many of the normal visual references used to estimate distance accurately.

Laser Rangefinder Integrated LRF 2.0
Maximum Ranging Distance Up to approximately 1,200m
Ballistic Calculation 2.0

The S60R combines its integrated rangefinder with NocPix's Ballistic Calculation 2.0 system.

Once the appropriate ballistic information has been configured, the system can use measured distance together with relevant shooting parameters to calculate an aiming solution.

NocPix states that the ballistic system can account for factors including distance, angle, wind drift and environmental conditions.

This integrates thermal observation, range measurement and ballistic assistance within the same riflescope.

Ballistic calculation remains an aiming aid and does not replace correct zeroing, verified ballistic data, safe shooting practice or positive target identification.

Dual-Clarity Motion & Still Modes

ACE 2 includes NocPix's Dual-Clarity image modes, allowing the scope to prioritise different image characteristics depending on the scene.

Motion Mode is designed to keep moving targets smooth and reduce blur or ghosting during active observation.

Still Mode places greater emphasis on fine scene detail when the target and surrounding environment are relatively static.

This allows the S60R's high-resolution detector to be used differently depending on whether the priority is motion tracking or maximum fine detail.

Intelligent Tracking

ACE 2 combines integrated laser ranging with an electronic compass to provide intelligent target-position information.

Following a ranging measurement, the system can provide coordinate information that can help the user reference or relocate the measured position.

This is particularly useful in vegetation, darkness and uneven terrain where a location can otherwise be difficult to find again after the initial observation.

Central Focus System

ACE 2 introduces a centrally positioned focus wheel designed to make image focusing more intuitive while the rifle remains in the shooting position.

The central location allows focus adjustment to be made without reaching forward around the large objective lens.

This is particularly useful on the S60R because its high-resolution detector is capable of revealing significant fine detail when the objective is correctly focused for the target distance.

2560×2560 AMOLED Viewing System

The ACE 2 S60R uses a high-resolution circular AMOLED display as part of NocPix's premium viewing system.

A 2560×2560 display provides a very high-resolution viewing surface for the large amount of information captured by the S60R's 1280×1024 thermal detector.

This is especially important on a high-resolution thermal scope because a low-resolution eyepiece display can otherwise become a bottleneck between the detector and the user's eye.

Display Type AMOLED
Display Resolution 2560×2560
Eye Relief 60mm
Exit Pupil 10mm
60mm Eye Relief & 10mm Exit Pupil

The ACE 2 eyepiece provides 60mm of eye relief and a large 10mm exit pupil.

The longer eye relief provides additional space between the user's eye and the eyepiece, while the large exit pupil makes the viewing position more forgiving.

This helps the full thermal image remain easier to acquire when mounting the rifle quickly or viewing from different shooting positions.

Dual Battery System & What's Included

The ACE 2 S60R uses a dual-power arrangement consisting of an internal rechargeable battery and a replaceable rechargeable 18650 battery.

The internal battery is rated at approximately 3650mAh, while the removable 18650 battery is also approximately 3650mAh.

Two rechargeable 18650 batteries are included in the box together with a dedicated battery charger, allowing a charged spare to be carried in the field.

NocPix also allows the removable 18650 battery to be installed in either orientation. There is no need to distinguish positive from negative polarity before fitting it.

Internal Battery Rechargeable, approximately 3650mAh
Replaceable Battery Rechargeable 18650, approximately 3650mAh
18650 Batteries Included 2
Battery Charger Included Yes
Battery Polarity Either orientation supported

Actual operating time varies according to ambient temperature and use of functions including Wi-Fi, laser ranging, video recording and display settings.

64GB Storage, Recording & RAV

The ACE 2 S60R includes 64GB of internal storage for photographs and thermal video recordings.

An integrated microphone allows audio to be recorded alongside compatible video footage.

Recoil Activated Video can automatically save footage associated with a detected shot, reducing the need to manually begin recording before every opportunity.

The scope also supports a built-in Gallery for reviewing recorded content.

5G Wi-Fi & App Connectivity

ACE 2 introduces upgraded 5G Wi-Fi connectivity for compatible NocPix app functions.

NocPix states wireless transfer speeds of up to 20MB/s, improving the speed of video downloads, firmware updates and media transfer.

The scope also remembers a previously connected device to reduce repeated pairing steps when reconnecting.

Magnesium Body & Under 1kg

The ACE 2 S60R uses a high-strength magnesium-alloy chassis and body.

Despite combining a large 1280×1024 detector and 60mm objective lens, the S60R weighs approximately 980g before the removable external battery is fitted.

NocPix states that the ACE 2 platform is approximately 25% lighter than the previous generation.

The reduction in weight is particularly valuable on a full-length riflescope because it reduces additional mass on the rifle during carrying, aiming and unsupported shooting positions.

7,000J Recoil Resistance & IP67 Protection

ACE 2 is designed as a dedicated weapon-mounted thermal riflescope and is rated to withstand recoil energy up to 7,000 joules.

NocPix specifically confirms compatibility with cartridges including .308 Win and .338 Lapua within the product's rated recoil limits.

The ACE 2 platform can also be fitted to an air rifle.

The S60R carries an IP67 ingress-protection rating and is designed for use in demanding outdoor conditions.

S60R vs H50R – Is 1280 Worth It?

The S60R and H50R share the same ACE 2 generation and many of the same software and viewing technologies, but the thermal detector is substantially different.

ACE 2 H50R 640×512 | ≤12mK | 50mm F0.9 | 60Hz | 3–24× | 15.4 × 12.3m @100m
ACE 2 S60R 1280×1024 | ≤12mK | 60mm F1.0 | 30/60Hz | 2–20× | 25.6 × 20.5m @100m

The S60R contains approximately four times as many thermal pixels as the H50R.

It also provides a considerably wider field of view despite using the larger 60mm lens, because its physical detector area is substantially larger.

Choose the H50R if you want premium 640-resolution performance with strong longer-distance capability at a lower price.

Choose the S60R if maximum native detail, wide-field scanning and flagship image quality are the priorities.

S60R vs H35R

The H35R is the wide-field 640-resolution model, while the S60R combines an even wider view with four times the thermal pixel count.

ACE 2 H35R 640×512 | 35mm F0.9 | 2× base magnification | 21.9 × 17.6m @100m
ACE 2 S60R 1280×1024 | 60mm F1.0 | 2× base magnification | 25.6 × 20.5m @100m

Remarkably, the S60R shows a wider area at 100 metres than the H35R while also using a much longer 60mm objective lens.

This is possible because the 1280×1024 sensor has a substantially larger imaging area.

Choose the H35R if you want a more accessible premium 640-resolution ACE 2 with strong wide-field performance.

Choose the S60R if you want the wide viewing experience combined with the maximum sensor resolution in the range.

ACE 2 S60R vs Original ACE S60R

The ACE 2 S60R retains the flagship 1280×1024 / 60mm concept of the original ACE S60R but introduces a major platform update.

Original ACE S60R 1280×1024 | ≤15mK | 50Hz | 60mm F1.0 | heavier original chassis
ACE 2 S60R 1280×1024 | ≤12mK | selectable 30/60Hz | 60mm F1.0 | new magnesium chassis
