The NocPix ACE S60R Thermal Imaging Scope with LRF is the flagship model of the original ACE thermal riflescope generation, combining an ultra-high-resolution 1280 × 1024 thermal detector with a large 60mm F1.0 germanium objective lens, integrated laser rangefinder and built-in ballistic calculation.
The S60R's 1280 × 1024, 12μm detector contains four times as many thermal pixels as a 640 × 512 sensor, giving the scope exceptional native image detail and allowing it to maintain a surprisingly wide field of view despite its large 60mm objective. With 2–24× base magnification, a 14.7° × 11.7° viewing angle and a manufacturer-stated detection range of up to 3,100 metres, it combines wide-area scanning with genuine long-range capability.
An integrated Class 1 laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1,200 metres with ±1 metre stated accuracy, while ballistic calculation uses range data as part of the scope's aiming system. NocPix Reality+ image processing, Vision+ viewing, a 2560 × 2560 AMOLED display, ocular zoom, dual battery system, 64GB storage and recoil-activated video recording complete what remains an exceptionally capable premium thermal riflescope.

30mm Scope Tube & Mounting Requirements
The NocPix ACE S60R uses a conventional 30mm main tube, allowing installation using suitable riflescope mounting rings.
Required scope ring diameter: 30mm.
The mounting arrangement must match the rifle's rail or base system, and the rings must provide sufficient height for the large 60mm objective housing.
- For a compatible Picatinny or Weaver rail, use suitable 30mm Picatinny/Weaver rings.
- For a compatible dovetail rail, use suitable 30mm dovetail rings.
- Check objective clearance, bolt operation and eye relief before final installation.
The standard ACE S60R uses 30mm scope rings. It should not be confused with the separate ACE S60R RM rail-mounted version.
Mounting rings are not listed in the manufacturer's standard ACE accessory package.
Where the Bamfords free Hawke Match Mounts promotion applies, suitable 30mm mounts can be added separately to your basket.
Because of the S60R's large objective housing, contact Bamfords Online if you need assistance selecting the correct ring height or fitting.
1280 × 1024 Ultra-HD Thermal Sensor
The ACE S60R uses a 1280 × 1024 VOx thermal detector with a 12μm pixel pitch.
Its 1,310,720 thermal pixels provide four times the native pixel count of a 640 × 512 sensor and more than eleven times that of a 384 × 288 detector.
This higher native resolution allows more detail to be captured across the scene and provides greater flexibility when viewing distant subjects or increasing magnification.
The detector's ≤15mK NETD sensitivity helps distinguish small differences in temperature, including in challenging low-contrast conditions.
The 50Hz refresh rate delivers smooth image updates during observation and movement.
60mm F1.0 Germanium Objective Lens
The S60R features a large 60mm germanium objective lens with an F1.0 aperture.
Its combination of a large objective and ultra-high-resolution sensor allows the scope to achieve long-distance detection without sacrificing the wide field of view usually associated with lower magnification optics.
The lens is designed to collect thermal energy efficiently, supporting detailed observation in a wide range of outdoor conditions.
Actual image quality depends on temperature contrast, humidity, atmospheric conditions and viewing distance.
3,100m Detection Range
NocPix specifies a maximum detection distance of up to 3,100 metres for the ACE S60R.
This figure is based on the manufacturer's standard reference target measuring approximately 1.7 × 0.5 metres under specified test conditions.
Detection refers to identifying the presence of a heat source. It should not be confused with recognising or positively identifying a particular subject at that distance.
Real-world detection and identification performance depend on target size, weather, humidity, temperature contrast and environmental conditions.
Wide 14.7° × 11.7° Field of View
One of the ACE S60R's standout advantages is its unusually wide field of view for a 60mm thermal riflescope.
The 1280 × 1024 detector provides an angular field of view of 14.7° × 11.7°, equivalent to approximately 25.6 × 20.5 metres at 100 metres.
This allows users to observe a wider area at the 2× starting magnification while retaining the benefits of a large objective lens and high-resolution sensor.
Compared with the ACE H50R's 15.4 × 12.3 metres at 100 metres, the S60R provides a substantially wider viewing area.
2–24× Magnification & Vision+ Ocular Zoom
The ACE S60R offers a 2–24× magnification range.
The 2× starting magnification works with the wide field of view to support searching and observation across larger areas.
Higher magnification settings allow users to examine smaller areas of the thermal image in greater apparent detail.
NocPix's Vision+ system also incorporates a 1–3× adjustable ocular magnifier, allowing the apparent size of the internal display image to be changed.
Increasing digital magnification does not increase the native resolution of the thermal detector, although the S60R's high pixel count provides more original image detail than lower-resolution ACE models.
Integrated 1,200m Laser Rangefinder
The ACE S60R incorporates an integrated Class 1 laser rangefinder.
The manufacturer specifies a maximum measuring distance of 1,200 metres with stated accuracy of ±1 metre.
The LRF is incorporated into the scope's objective assembly, avoiding the need for a separate external rangefinding attachment.
Rangefinding performance depends on target reflectivity, atmospheric conditions, angle and distance.
The integrated rangefinder can also supply distance information to the scope's ballistic calculation system.
Built-In Ballistic Calculation
The ACE S60R features ballistic calculation functionality designed to work alongside its integrated laser rangefinder.
Using measured distance and configured ballistic information, the scope can provide calculated aiming assistance.
Ballistic calculation is dependent on correct input information, accurate zeroing and appropriate verification.
It is an additional aid rather than a substitute for correct rifle setup and responsible use.
2560 × 2560 AMOLED Display
The ACE S60R uses a high-resolution 2560 × 2560 AMOLED display.
The circular display works with NocPix's Vision+ ocular viewing system to provide a traditional riflescope-style image.
The scope offers 50mm eye relief, an 8mm exit pupil and dioptre adjustment from -5D to +5D.
The combination of the high-resolution display and 1280 × 1024 detector allows the S60R to present a particularly detailed thermal image.
Reality+ Image Processing & Colour Palettes
NocPix Reality+ image processing is designed to enhance the presentation of thermal information through image refinement and contrast optimisation.
The S60R includes selectable thermal colour palettes, allowing users to choose their preferred image presentation for different conditions.
The scope's image settings can be adjusted to balance detail, contrast and viewing comfort.
Image enhancement cannot eliminate the effects of severe atmospheric conditions or create thermal detail that the detector has not captured.
Dual Battery System & Operating Time
The ACE S60R uses a dual-battery system consisting of an internal rechargeable 4,000mAh battery and a removable rechargeable 18650 battery.
The manufacturer's standard package includes two rechargeable 18650 batteries and a compatible charger.
This allows a charged spare battery to be carried for extended use.
NocPix specifies a maximum operating time of approximately six hours at 22°C under its test conditions.
Actual runtime varies with temperature, display brightness, Wi-Fi, recording and laser rangefinder usage.
The scope also supports compatible external power through its USB Type-C connection.
64GB Storage, Recording & Connectivity
The ACE S60R includes 64GB of internal storage for photographs and video recordings.
It supports standard recording functions as well as recoil-activated video recording.
The built-in microphone allows audio to be captured with compatible recordings.
Wi-Fi connectivity supports communication with compatible mobile devices and NocPix software.
USB Type-C provides an interface for charging and supported data-transfer functions.
IP67 Protection & Recoil Resistance
The ACE S60R features a durable aluminium-alloy housing with an IP67 ingress-protection rating.
It is specified to withstand recoil energy up to 6,000 joules.
The manufacturer's operating temperature range is -20°C to +50°C.
The S60R weighs approximately 1,300g and measures 390 × 90 × 71mm, making it a substantial premium optic.
Correct mounting and sufficient clearance are particularly important because of the large objective assembly and overall weight.
