The NocPix BOLT L35R Thermal Imaging Scope with LRF combines a 384×288, 12μm thermal sensor with a 35mm F1.0 objective lens, integrated laser rangefinder and ballistic calculation. Sitting between the P25R and H50R in the BOLT range, it provides a useful balance of detection distance, magnification and price for customers looking for a capable dedicated thermal riflescope.
With 3.5–14× magnification, ≤20mK thermal sensitivity and a manufacturer-stated detection range of approximately 1,800 metres, the L35R is particularly well suited to mixed-distance use. Its traditional scope-style body uses a 30mm tube for straightforward mounting with suitable 30mm scope rings.

IS THE BOLT L35R RIGHT FOR ME?
The BOLT L35R is the middle-ground option in the BOLT range, offering a worthwhile step up from the P25R without moving to the higher price of the H50R.
Its 384×288 sensor and 35mm lens provide more image detail and greater detection capability than the P25R, while the 3.5× base magnification keeps it versatile enough for mixed-distance use.
Choose the L35R if you want a traditional tube-style thermal scope with integrated rangefinding and ballistic calculation, but do not need the 640×512 sensor and 50mm lens of the H50R.
COMPARE NOCPIX BOLT MODELS — BUYING GUIDE
The BOLT range is available in three main configurations. The biggest differences are thermal sensor resolution, lens size, detection range and magnification.
| Model | Sensor | Lens | NETD | Magnification | Detection Range | LRF |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| P25R | 256×192 | 25mm F1.0 | ≤20mK | 3.5–14× | ~1,300m | Up to 1,200m |
| L35R | 384×288 | 35mm F1.0 | ≤20mK | 3.5–14× | ~1,800m | Up to 1,200m |
| H50R | 640×512 | 50mm F1.0 | ≤18mK | 3–24× | ~2,600m | Up to 1,200m |
P25R: Best for customers prioritising price and predominantly shorter-distance use.
L35R: The middle-ground BOLT, with a worthwhile increase in sensor resolution and detection range over the P25R.
H50R: The premium BOLT, with the highest sensor resolution, longest detection range, better thermal sensitivity and widest magnification range.
All three include an integrated laser rangefinder, ballistic calculation and conventional 30mm scope-tube mounting.
LASER RANGEFINDER & BALLISTIC CALCULATION
The BOLT L35R features an integrated laser rangefinder capable of measuring distances up to approximately 1,200 metres.
This allows you to detect a heat source, assess its distance and use the scope's ballistic calculation functionality without carrying a separate rangefinder.
This is particularly useful when shooting across changing distances, where accurate range estimation becomes increasingly important.
DETECTION RANGE vs IDENTIFICATION RANGE
The manufacturer-stated detection range of approximately 1,800 metres refers to the distance at which the thermal detector may identify that a sufficiently large heat source is present under suitable conditions.
Detection is not the same as positive identification. At longer distances, the scope may reveal a heat source without providing enough detail to determine exactly what it is.
Real-world identification distance depends on target size, weather, vegetation, thermal contrast and the amount of digital magnification being used.
DUAL-BATTERY SYSTEM & RUNTIME
The BOLT L35R uses two separate power sources.
One rechargeable battery is permanently built into the scope. This internal battery is not removed during normal use.
The second power source is a removable 18650 rechargeable battery. This battery can be taken out, recharged and replaced with another compatible 18650 battery.
This dual-battery design means you can carry spare 18650 batteries and swap them during longer sessions, while the built-in battery provides an additional internal power source.
BOLT vs ACE vs RICO2 — WHICH NOCPIX THERMAL SCOPE RANGE?
BOLT: A traditional tube-style thermal riflescope range designed to mount using conventional 30mm scope rings. A strong choice for customers who prefer the familiar shape and mounting arrangement of a conventional riflescope.
ACE: NocPix's premium conventional riflescope-style range, with higher-end imaging options and advanced features for customers wanting a step up in thermal performance.
RICO2: A dedicated thermal riflescope platform with a different body and mounting arrangement, suited to customers who prefer a purpose-built thermal scope rather than a conventional tube design.
