THERMAL + 8K DIGITAL MULTISPECTRAL IMAGING

The OMNI L19R combines two different imaging technologies within one binocular, allowing the user to switch between thermal detection and high-resolution digital observation.

The thermal channel detects differences in heat rather than relying on visible light. This makes it extremely effective for locating animals and other heat sources during daylight, low light and complete darkness.

The separate 8K digital channel produces a more conventional visual image, providing significantly more recognisable visual detail when lighting conditions allow.

Combining the two means the OMNI can be used for thermal detection, daylight digital observation and IR-assisted digital night vision without carrying separate devices.

384×288 THERMAL SENSOR

The L19R uses a 384×288 thermal detector with a 12μm pixel pitch and ≤15mK NETD thermal sensitivity.

Its detector contains 110,592 individual thermal pixels and is designed to provide responsive heat detection while keeping the L19R considerably more accessible than the higher-resolution H35R.

The excellent ≤15mK sensitivity allows the sensor to distinguish very small differences in temperature, helping retain useful thermal information in low-contrast conditions.

A 50Hz refresh rate provides smooth movement when scanning terrain or following moving heat sources.

19MM F0.9 THERMAL LENS & FIELD OF VIEW

The thermal channel uses a fast 19mm F0.9 germanium objective lens with 1.5× native magnification.

Its 12.5° × 9.4° field of view covers approximately 21.9 × 16.5 metres at 100 metres, providing useful visual coverage when searching for heat sources.

Thermal magnification extends from 1.5× to 12×, allowing the user to move from general scanning to closer inspection without leaving the thermal channel.

The 19mm lens and lower base magnification make the L19R particularly approachable for general multispectral observation where extreme thermal magnification is not the main priority.

8K DIGITAL DAY & NIGHT VISION

The digital side of the OMNI L19R uses an 8K imaging sensor paired with a dedicated 50mm F1.8 objective lens.

NocPix states that its 8K sensor captures more than four times the pixel count of mainstream 4K sensors, allowing finer visual details to be retained as magnification increases.

Three scene-specific image algorithms optimise the digital image for different environments, including daylight, twilight and low-light conditions.

Digital magnification ranges from 3× to 18×, while the 8.8° × 6.6° field of view covers approximately 15.4 × 11.5 metres at 100 metres.

850NM IR NIGHT VISION

The OMNI L19R is supplied with an 850nm infrared illuminator for use with its digital imaging system in darkness.

Where the thermal channel requires no illumination at all, the IR illuminator provides invisible-to-the-eye infrared light for the digital sensor, allowing it to produce a detailed night vision image when visible light is insufficient.

The 850nm wavelength is well suited to situations where stronger infrared illumination and usable digital night vision range are priorities.

The L19R package includes the 850nm IR illuminator. Unlike the H35R package, it is not supplied with an additional 940nm illuminator.

THERMAL DETECTION vs DIGITAL IDENTIFICATION

The two OMNI imaging channels are designed to complement one another.

Thermal imaging: is particularly effective for finding a heat source quickly because it does not rely on visible light, camouflage colour or conventional contrast.

8K digital imaging: produces a conventional visual image and can reveal visual characteristics that are difficult to reproduce using thermal imaging alone.

This means the thermal channel can be used to locate a subject before switching to the digital channel when additional visual detail is useful.

1,800M THERMAL DETECTION RANGE

The OMNI L19R has a manufacturer-stated thermal detection range of up to approximately 1,800 metres.

Detection range describes the ability to detect the presence of a suitably sized heat source under appropriate conditions. It should not be confused with identification range, which will normally be considerably shorter.

Actual performance will depend on the target, weather conditions, thermal contrast and surrounding environment.

1,000M LRF & BALLISTIC CALCULATION

The OMNI L19R incorporates an integrated laser rangefinder capable of measuring distances up to approximately 1,000 metres.

This allows distance information to be obtained directly through the binocular without needing to use a separate handheld rangefinder.

The OMNI platform also includes ballistic calculation functionality, allowing range information to be used alongside supported ballistic data.

Best Suited To Value / general multispectral use Higher thermal performance

The L19R and H35R share the same core OMNI concept and, importantly, the same 8K digital imaging system. If you are using the digital channel, both models provide the same 50mm F1.8 objective and 3–18× digital magnification.

The major upgrade when moving to the H35R is therefore on the thermal side.

The L19R's 384×288 sensor contains 110,592 thermal pixels. The H35R's 640×512 detector contains 327,680 – almost three times as many.

The H35R also uses a larger 35mm thermal objective and provides greater thermal magnification, making it the stronger choice when thermal image quality and longer-distance thermal observation are the priorities.

The L19R makes more sense where you want the versatility of the OMNI multispectral platform and its full 8K digital system at a considerably more accessible price.

WHY CHOOSE THE OMNI L19R?

The L19R provides an accessible route into the OMNI platform without sacrificing its defining 8K multispectral capability.

You still get thermal detection, 8K digital day/night imaging, integrated laser rangefinding, ballistic calculation, Electronic Image Stabilisation, recording, advanced connectivity and replaceable 18650 power.

The main compromise compared with the H35R is thermal resolution and thermal lens size rather than the digital imaging system.

For users who want a highly versatile all-day and all-night observation binocular without needing the H35R's higher-resolution thermal channel, the L19R offers particularly strong value within the OMNI range.

OMNI vs QUEST – WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE?

The key difference between OMNI and QUEST is that OMNI is multispectral while QUEST is a dedicated thermal platform.

OMNI: combines thermal detection with an 8K digital day and night vision channel. It is the more versatile choice when you want to move between heat detection and detailed conventional imaging.

QUEST: concentrates specifically on thermal observation. If a digital day/night channel is unnecessary and dedicated thermal performance is the priority, QUEST is the more focused range.

The L19R is therefore particularly attractive for users who value having several observation technologies within one binocular.

ELECTRONIC IMAGE STABILISATION & 0.5× ZOOM

Electronic Image Stabilisation helps reduce the visible effect of natural hand movement during handheld observation.

This becomes particularly useful as magnification increases, where relatively small movements can otherwise become much more obvious.

The OMNI also features a dedicated digital zoom ring with fine 0.5× zoom increments, allowing magnification to be adjusted progressively rather than jumping between large preset steps.

DISPLAY & VIEWING COMFORT

The OMNI L19R uses a 0.5-inch 1920×1200 AMOLED viewing system for both its thermal and digital imaging channels.

With 25mm eye relief and a 12mm exit pupil, the binocular is designed to provide comfortable viewing during extended observation.

The two-eye binocular configuration also provides a more natural viewing position than repeatedly observing through a single monocular eyepiece.

RECORDING, 64GB STORAGE & CONNECTIVITY

The OMNI L19R includes 64GB of onboard storage and supports photo, video and audio recording through its built-in microphone.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and N-Link connectivity provide access to compatible connected functions and make it easier to transfer and manage captured imagery.

This allows observations to be recorded directly through the binocular rather than requiring a separate external camera.

BATTERY & POWER SYSTEM

The OMNI L19R uses a built-in battery alongside replaceable rechargeable 18650 batteries, providing a flexible power system for extended observation.

The replaceable battery compartment uses a polarity-free design, allowing batteries to be inserted without needing to identify their positive and negative orientation first. This makes battery changes much easier in darkness.

Two rechargeable 18650 batteries and an 18650 battery charger are supplied with the L19R.

TRIPOD MOUNTING

The OMNI L19R incorporates a standard ¼-20 UNC threaded tripod mounting point.

This allows the binocular to be mounted to a compatible tripod or support for stable hands-free observation, particularly useful when watching an area for extended periods.
