IS THE NOCPIX LUMI P13 RIGHT FOR ME?
The LUMI P13 makes the most sense if your priorities are price, portability and basic thermal detection. Its 2× starting magnification and wide 24 × 18m field of view make it easy to scan closer areas quickly.
The main compromise is its 256×192 sensor. It provides less thermal detail than the 384×288 L19 and L35 and considerably less than the 640×512 H35. Digital magnification therefore degrades useful detail sooner than on the higher-resolution models.
Choose the P13 for close-range scanning, locating nearby heat sources or as an affordable first thermal monocular. If you want noticeably more target detail while retaining a wide field of view, the L19 is the logical next step.

LUMI P13 vs L19 – IS THE L19 WORTH THE UPGRADE?
The P13 and L19 both start at 2× magnification and both provide approximately 24 × 18m field of view at 100m, so they offer a similarly wide scanning experience.
The major difference is sensor resolution. The P13 uses a 256×192 sensor, while the L19 uses 384×288. The L19 therefore provides significantly more thermal image information and generally retains more useful detail when subjects are smaller or further away.
The L19 also increases the objective lens from 13mm to 19mm and extends manufacturer-stated detection range from approximately 670m to 980m.

DETECTION RANGE – WHAT DOES 670m MEAN?
NocPix specifies the P13 with a maximum thermal detection range of approximately 670 metres against its standard 1.7 × 0.5m target.
Detection means the device may be capable of showing that a sufficiently large heat source is present. It does not mean that the target can necessarily be identified in detail at 670m.
Useful identification distance will be shorter and will vary with target size, weather, thermal contrast and the amount of digital magnification being used.
