IS THE RICO2 H75R RIGHT FOR ME?
The H75R is designed for customers who want long-range performance from a 640×512 thermal sensor. Its large 75mm lens and 4× base magnification make it substantially more specialised towards open ground and extended-distance observation than the H50R.
The trade-off is field of view. The H75R shows approximately 10.2 × 8.2m at 100m compared with 15.4 × 11.5m from the H50R. That makes the H50R easier to use across mixed distances, while the H75R is the stronger choice when longer-distance performance is the priority.
If you want the ultimate RICO2 rather than the best long-range 640 option, the S75R retains the 75mm lens but makes the major jump to a 1280×1024 thermal sensor.

L42R: The most accessible RICO2, using a 384×288 sensor and 42mm lens.

H75R vs H50R – WHICH 640 RICO2 SHOULD I CHOOSE?
The H50R and H75R use the same 640×512, 12μm sensor with ≤15mK NETD. The major difference is therefore the lens, magnification and field of view.
The H50R uses a 50mm F1.0 lens with 3–24× magnification and a 15.4 × 11.5m field of view at 100m. The H75R uses a much larger 75mm F1.0 lens with 4–32× magnification and a narrower 10.2 × 8.2m field of view.
Choose the H50R if you want the more versatile 640×512 RICO2 for mixed distances. Choose the H75R if longer-distance observation, higher optical magnification and open-ground use are your priorities.
H75R vs S75R – 640 OR 1280?
The H75R and S75R both use a 75mm F1.0 objective lens, making the sensor the biggest difference between them.
The H75R uses a 640×512 detector, while the S75R moves to 1280×1024. A 1280×1024 detector contains four times as many pixels as a 640×512 detector, giving the S75R substantially more thermal image information.
The larger sensor also allows the S75R to provide a much wider 20.5 × 16.4m field of view at 100m, compared with 10.2 × 8.2m on the H75R, despite both using 75mm lenses.
Choose the H75R if you want serious 75mm long-range performance without paying for the flagship sensor. Choose the S75R if maximum image resolution and a much wider field of view justify the additional investment.
75mm F1.0 LENS – WHY DOES IT MATTER?
The H75R's 75mm F1.0 objective lens is one of the biggest reasons to choose it over the H50R.
The longer 75mm focal length gives the H75R greater optical magnification and makes distant objects occupy more of the image before digital magnification is applied. This is particularly useful where longer viewing distances are normal.
The trade-off is a narrower field of view. The H75R shows 10.2 × 8.2m at 100m compared with 15.4 × 11.5m from the H50R.
640×512 SENSOR & ≤15mK NETD
The H75R combines a 640×512, 12μm thermal detector with ≤15mK thermal sensitivity.
The 640×512 resolution provides substantially more image information than the 384×288 sensor used by the L42R, helping preserve useful thermal detail as magnification increases.
NETD measures the detector's ability to distinguish very small differences in temperature. A lower figure generally indicates greater thermal sensitivity, with the H75R rated at ≤15mK.
4–32× MAGNIFICATION & FIELD OF VIEW
The RICO2 H75R provides 4–32× magnification, giving it a higher base and maximum magnification than the H50R.
Its field of view is approximately 10.2 × 8.2 metres at 100 metres. This is narrower than the H50R and reflects the H75R's stronger emphasis on longer-distance observation.
If a wider view and lower starting magnification are more important, consider the H50R. If distant detail is the priority, the H75R is the more specialised option.
STEPPLESS ZOOM LEVER – WHAT DOES IT DO?
The RICO2 platform uses a stepless zoom lever, allowing magnification to be adjusted progressively rather than relying only on fixed zoom steps.
This makes it quicker to move between lower and higher magnification while selecting the amount of zoom appropriate to the viewing distance.
LASER RANGEFINDER & BALLISTIC CALCULATION
The RICO2 H75R incorporates an integrated laser rangefinder together with built-in ballistic calculation functionality.

DETECTION RANGE vs IDENTIFICATION RANGE
NocPix positions the RICO2 series specifically for long-distance thermal observation and states a maximum series detection range of up to 3,896 metres.
It is important to understand that detection range is not the same as identification range. Detection simply means the thermal device can detect the presence of a sufficiently large heat source under specified conditions.
The distance at which useful detail is available will be considerably more dependent on subject size, thermal contrast, weather, atmospheric conditions and magnification.
RICO2 vs ACE vs BOLT – WHICH NOCPIX RANGE?
BOLT is the more accessible dedicated thermal riflescope family and is a strong starting point within the NocPix scope range.

MOUNT & RAIL INFORMATION
A dedicated dual-throw Picatinny scope mount is included with the NocPix RICO2 H75R. The H75R does not use a conventional 30mm scope tube or separate 30mm scope rings.
If your rifle has a Picatinny rail: the supplied RICO2 mount is designed to attach to a compatible Picatinny rail, so you do not need to purchase an additional pair of scope rings.
If your rifle has an 11mm dovetail rail: the supplied Picatinny mount will not clamp directly to the dovetail. You will need a suitable 11mm dovetail-to-Picatinny adaptor fitted to the rifle first, after which the supplied RICO2 mount can be attached.
Do not select a 30mm Hawke match mount for this scope. The RICO2 H75R uses its own dedicated mounting system rather than a conventional 30mm tube.

BATTERY & RUNTIME
The NocPix RICO2 H75R uses a rechargeable, removable battery system, allowing the battery to be changed in the field rather than having to recharge the scope itself.
