WHY CHOOSE A THERMAL CLIP-ON INSTEAD OF A THERMAL SCOPE?
A thermal clip-on allows you to retain your existing daytime riflescope, reticle, eye position and familiar controls while adding thermal capability in front of the optic.
This can be particularly useful if you already own a quality daytime scope or regularly switch between daytime and thermal use. Instead of replacing the entire sighting system, the MATE converts your existing setup into a thermal-capable system.
A dedicated thermal riflescope may make more sense if you want a completely self-contained thermal optic. A clip-on is particularly attractive where retaining the familiar daytime scope is important.
WHAT IS MAGIC ZOOM?
NocPix's Magic Zoom technology is designed to optimise the thermal image as the magnification of the daytime riflescope behind the clip-on is changed.
This helps maintain image clarity and appropriate interface scaling as the daytime optic is magnified, reducing some of the limitations normally associated with viewing a digital thermal image through a variable-magnification riflescope.

WHAT DOES ≤15mK NETD MEAN?
NETD measures how effectively a thermal detector can distinguish very small differences in temperature. In general, a lower number indicates greater thermal sensitivity.
The current MATE models are rated at ≤15mK, helping them distinguish subtle temperature differences and retain useful subject and environmental detail where thermal contrast is reduced.
LASER RANGEFINDER & BALLISTIC CALCULATION
The MATE H38R, H50R and MATE ULTRA include an integrated laser rangefinder, while the MATE LITE does not.
The LRF-equipped models provide built-in distance measurement and support ballistic calculation functionality within the MATE system.
This means customers using the H38R, H50R or ULTRA can obtain range information without relying on a separate handheld laser rangefinder.
HOW DOES A NOCPIX MATE ATTACH TO MY RIFLESCOPE?
A front-mounted thermal clip-on is fitted in front of your existing daytime riflescope using a compatible adaptor system.
The adaptor required depends on the outside diameter of the riflescope's objective housing, not simply the advertised objective lens size. For example, two scopes described as 50mm models can have different external objective diameters.

WILL A THERMAL CLIP-ON CHANGE MY ZERO?

CAN I USE A VARIABLE-MAGNIFICATION DAY SCOPE?
Yes. The MATE range is designed for use in front of compatible daytime riflescopes, including variable-magnification optics.
As magnification is increased on the daytime scope, the thermal image is also enlarged. Higher thermal sensor resolution therefore becomes increasingly valuable because more image information is available before digital enlargement occurs.
