The NocPix MATE LITE Thermal Imaging Clip-On Attachment is the most accessible model in the MATE thermal clip-on range, designed to add thermal imaging capability to a conventional daytime riflescope without stepping up to the higher-resolution H38R, H50R or flagship ULTRA. It combines a Gen-2 384×288 thermal sensor with a 38mm F1.0 objective lens and fast 60Hz refresh rate for smooth, responsive thermal imaging.

Despite its position as the entry model, the MATE LITE offers a stated thermal detection range of up to 1,950 metres, Reality+ image processing, ballistic calculation and a 1920×1080 AMOLED display. It does not feature the integrated laser rangefinder found on the H38R, H50R and ULTRA, making it particularly suited to customers who want the MATE clip-on platform at a lower price and do not require built-in rangefinding.

IS THE MATE LITE RIGHT FOR ME?

The MATE LITE is the model to consider if you want to enter the NocPix MATE clip-on range at a lower price point and do not need the higher-resolution sensor or integrated laser rangefinder of the H38R and above.

Its 38mm F1.0 lens provides a stated detection range of up to 1,950 metres – the same headline detection distance as the H38R – but the key difference is sensor resolution. The LITE uses a 384×288 detector, while the H38R moves up to 640×512 for greater thermal image detail.

For customers primarily looking for a capable thermal front attachment without paying for an integrated LRF or higher-resolution sensor, the MATE LITE offers the most affordable route into the current MATE range.

COMPARE NOCPIX MATE MODELS – BUYING GUIDE

The main differences across the NocPix MATE range are sensor resolution, objective lens, detection range, field of view and integrated rangefinding. Choosing the right model largely depends on your budget, typical viewing distances and the level of thermal image detail you require.

Model Sensor Lens Detection LRF
MATE LITE 384×288 38mm F1.0 1,950m No integrated LRF
MATE H38R 640×512 38mm F1.0 1,950m 1,200m
MATE H50R 640×512 50mm F1.0 2,600m 1,200m
MATE ULTRA 1280×1024 60mm F1.0 3,100m 1,200m

Choose the MATE LITE if value is the priority. Its 384×288 sensor and 38mm F1.0 lens provide up to 1,950m detection, making it the most accessible way into the MATE system. The main compromises are lower sensor resolution and no integrated laser rangefinder.

Choose the MATE H38R if you want a significant increase in image detail without sacrificing the versatility of a 38mm lens. It moves to a 640×512 sensor while retaining the 1,950m stated detection range and adds an integrated 1,200m LRF, making it the strongest all-rounder in the range.

Choose the MATE H50R if longer-distance performance is the priority. It retains the 640×512 sensor but moves to a 50mm F1.0 lens, increasing stated detection range to 2,600m. The trade-off is a narrower field of view compared with the 38mm models.

Choose the MATE ULTRA if you want the flagship MATE and maximum thermal image detail. Its 1280×1024 sensor represents a substantial increase in resolution and is paired with a 60mm F1.0 lens, integrated 1,200m LRF and up to 3,100m detection.

In short: LITE for value, H38R for the best all-round balance, H50R for longer-range 640×512 performance, and ULTRA for maximum image quality and performance.

IMAGE QUALITY & REALITY+ TECHNOLOGY

The MATE LITE uses a Gen-2 384×288 thermal detector with a 12μm pixel pitch and 60Hz refresh rate. Combined with the fast 38mm F1.0 objective lens, this provides responsive thermal imaging across a useful range of conditions.

NocPix Reality+ image processing is designed to optimise thermal image detail and clarity, while the 1920×1080 AMOLED display provides a high-resolution viewing image. Shutterless technology further supports a smooth viewing experience during use.

BALLISTIC CALCULATION

The MATE LITE supports built-in ballistic calculation functionality. Unlike the H38R, H50R and ULTRA, however, the LITE does not include an integrated laser rangefinder.

If having rangefinding built directly into the thermal attachment is important to you, the H38R is the next model to consider and combines a 640×512 sensor with an integrated LRF capable of measuring distances up to 1,200 metres.

CLIP-ON & MOUNTING INFORMATION

The MATE LITE is designed primarily as a front-mounted thermal attachment for use with a conventional daytime riflescope. This allows you to retain the familiar eye relief, reticle and shooting position of your existing optic while adding thermal imaging capability.

A suitable adapter is required to securely attach the MATE to the objective end of the day scope. Adapter size is determined by the external diameter of the riflescope's objective housing, rather than simply the stated objective lens size.

If you are unsure which adapter is suitable for your riflescope, contact us with the make and model of your scope and we can help confirm compatibility.

RECORDING, WI-FI & STORAGE

The MATE LITE includes 64GB of internal storage and supports photo, video and audio recording, allowing thermal footage to be captured directly through the device.

Recoil Activated Video (RAV) can capture footage around the moment a shot is fired, helping ensure important moments are recorded without having to manually start recording beforehand.

Wi-Fi and remote functionality provide additional options for device control and accessing captured content, while N-Link connectivity is also supported.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What sensor does the NocPix MATE LITE use?
The MATE LITE uses a 384×288, 12μm thermal sensor with a 60Hz refresh rate.

What is the detection range of the MATE LITE?
The stated thermal detection range is up to 1,950 metres. Detection should not be confused with identification distance; actual performance depends on target size, weather, thermal contrast and environmental conditions.

Does the MATE LITE have a laser rangefinder?
No. The MATE LITE does not have an integrated laser rangefinder. If you require built-in rangefinding, the H38R, H50R and ULTRA incorporate a 1,200m LRF.

What is the difference between the MATE LITE and H38R?
Both use a 38mm F1.0 lens and have a stated detection range of up to 1,950m. The H38R upgrades the thermal sensor from 384×288 to 640×512 and adds an integrated 1,200m laser rangefinder. The LITE is the more affordable option if those upgrades are not required.

Should I choose the MATE LITE or H50R?
The LITE is aimed at customers prioritising value and uses a 384×288 sensor with a 38mm lens and up to 1,950m detection. The H50R is a higher-performance option with a 640×512 sensor, 50mm lens, integrated 1,200m LRF and up to 2,600m detection.

Does the MATE LITE support ballistic calculation?
Yes. Ballistic calculation is supported, although the LITE does not incorporate the integrated laser rangefinder found on the higher models.

Does the MATE LITE replace my daytime riflescope?
No. It is designed primarily to mount in front of a compatible daytime riflescope, allowing you to retain your existing optic and reticle.

Can the MATE LITE record video?
Yes. It supports photo, video and audio recording and includes 64GB of internal storage.

Does the MATE LITE have Recoil Activated Video?
Yes. Recoil Activated Video (RAV) is supported.

What batteries does the MATE LITE use?
The MATE LITE uses replaceable rechargeable 18650 batteries.

Which adapter do I need for my riflescope?
The correct adapter size depends on the external diameter of your day scope's objective housing. If you are unsure, contact us with your scope make and model and we can help identify the appropriate adapter.

What warranty does the NocPix MATE LITE have?
NocPix provides a 3-year standard warranty on the main device, which can be extended to 4 years through the applicable product registration. The battery carries a 2-year warranty and the thermal detector is covered for 10 years.
