The NocPix VISTA H35 Thermal Imaging Monocular is the wide-field 35mm model in the VISTA thermal monocular range. Combining a high-resolution 640×512 thermal sensor, exceptional ≤15mK thermal sensitivity and a fast 35mm F0.9 objective lens, the H35 is designed to deliver a detailed thermal image while retaining a wide field of view for efficient scanning.

Its 3× base magnification and 12.5° × 10° field of view make the VISTA H35 particularly well suited to scanning fields, woodland, hedgerows and mixed terrain. Rather than concentrating purely on maximum magnification, the H35 allows a larger area to remain visible through the monocular, helping users locate and follow heat sources quickly.

The H35 also benefits from the distinctive VISTA viewing system, including a high-resolution 2560×2560 AMOLED display, smooth 60Hz refresh rate and large ocular design. With a stated detection range of up to 1,800 metres, 64GB internal storage and a replaceable battery system, it is a highly capable premium thermal monocular for wildlife observation, land management and general thermal scanning.

640×512 Thermal Sensor & ≤15mK NETD

At the heart of the VISTA H35 is a 640×512 thermal detector with a 12μm pixel pitch. The high sensor resolution helps retain fine detail across the thermal image, making it easier to distinguish the shape and characteristics of detected heat sources.

The sensor is paired with an excellent ≤15mK NETD rating. NETD measures the detector's ability to distinguish very small differences in temperature, with a lower figure indicating greater thermal sensitivity.

This becomes particularly useful when environmental conditions reduce natural thermal contrast, such as damp, foggy or overcast weather, or when an animal's temperature is relatively close to its surroundings.

35mm F0.9 Lens & Wide Field of View

The VISTA H35 uses a fast 35mm F0.9 germanium objective lens. The F0.9 aperture allows more infrared energy to reach the detector than a slower lens, helping the highly sensitive thermal sensor produce a detailed image.

One of the biggest reasons to choose the H35 is its field of view. It provides a 12.5° × 10° viewing area, equivalent to approximately 22m × 18m at 100 metres.

That wider image makes the H35 particularly effective for scanning. It allows more terrain to remain visible at once and makes it easier to locate heat sources quickly than a higher-magnification thermal monocular with a narrower field of view.

3–28× Magnification & 1,800m Detection

The H35 starts at a useful 3× optical base magnification and provides digital magnification up to 28×.

NocPix specifies a maximum detection distance of up to 1,800 metres using a standard 1.7m × 0.5m target. Detection range refers to the ability to detect the presence of a heat source; positive recognition or identification will naturally take place at shorter distances and will depend on target size and environmental conditions.

The combination of 3× base magnification and a 35mm objective makes the H35 particularly versatile across closer and medium-distance environments where field of view can be more useful than maximum magnification.

2560×2560 AMOLED Display

The VISTA H35 uses NocPix's high-resolution 2560×2560 AMOLED display, providing considerably more display resolution than conventional thermal monocular screens.

The VISTA's circular display and large ocular design are intended to produce a viewing experience closer to looking through a conventional optical device, while the AMOLED technology provides excellent contrast and deep blacks.

A 60Hz sensor refresh rate keeps movement smooth when scanning across terrain or following moving animals.

Battery System & What's Included

The VISTA H35 uses NocPix's removable IBP-7 rechargeable Li-ion battery pack. Each battery has a capacity of 4400mAh.

Two IBP-7 rechargeable batteries are supplied with the VISTA H35. This means you receive a battery for the monocular plus a second interchangeable battery, rather than having to purchase a spare battery separately.

Battery Type NocPix IBP-7 rechargeable Li-ion battery pack
Battery Capacity 4400mAh per battery
Batteries Included 2 × IBP-7 rechargeable batteries
Battery System Removable / interchangeable
Stated Runtime Up to 5.5 hours per battery at 22°C

The removable design is particularly useful for longer sessions. When the first battery is depleted, it can be removed and replaced with the second supplied IBP-7 rather than having to stop using the monocular while an internal battery recharges.

Actual operating time will vary according to ambient temperature and the functions being used, including Wi-Fi and recording.

Recording & 64GB Internal Storage

The VISTA H35 incorporates 64GB of internal memory, providing substantial built-in storage for capturing thermal images and video without requiring a separate memory card.

Microphone support also enables audio to be captured with compatible video recordings, allowing complete thermal observations to be saved for later review.

H35 vs H35R

The VISTA H35 and H35R share the same core thermal imaging specification. Both use a 640×512 12μm sensor, ≤15mK NETD, 35mm F0.9 lens, 3–28× magnification and a wide 12.5° × 10° field of view.

The principal difference is the laser rangefinder. The H35 is the standard non-LRF model, while the H35R incorporates a Class 1 laser rangefinder with a maximum stated ranging distance of 1,200 metres.

If you want the wide-field thermal performance of the 35mm VISTA and do not need to measure distance through the monocular, the H35 is the more straightforward choice. If accurate ranging is important, choose the H35R.

H35 vs H50

The H35 and H50 both use a 640×512 12μm thermal sensor, ≤15mK NETD and 60Hz refresh rate, but their different objective lenses give them noticeably different characteristics.

The H35 uses a 35mm F0.9 lens with 3× base magnification and a wide 12.5° × 10° field of view. It is the better choice where scanning ability and situational awareness are the priority.

The H50 moves to a 50mm F0.9 lens, 4× base magnification and a narrower 8.8° × 7° field of view. Its stated detection range also increases from 1,800m to 2,600m.

In simple terms, choose the H35 for the wider image and easier scanning, or the H50 for greater native magnification and more emphasis on longer-distance observation.

VISTA Model Comparison
VISTA H35 640×512 | 35mm F0.9 | 3–28× | Wide field of view | No LRF
VISTA H35R 640×512 | 35mm F0.9 | 3–28× | Wide field of view | 1,200m LRF
VISTA H50 640×512 | 50mm F0.9 | 4–40× | Longer-range bias | No LRF
VISTA H50R 640×512 | 50mm F0.9 | 4–40× | Longer-range bias | 1,200m LRF
VISTA S50R 1280×1024 | 50mm F0.9 | 2–40× | Flagship sensor | Integrated LRF

Within the VISTA range, the H35 is particularly attractive for users who want the 640×512 sensor and excellent ≤15mK sensitivity with the wider view provided by the 35mm lens, but do not require an integrated laser rangefinder.
