NocPix VISTA H50 Thermal Imaging Monocular is a premium long-range handheld thermal monocular combining a 640×512, 12μm thermal sensor with an exceptionally fast 50mm F0.9 objective lens. With 4× base magnification and a manufacturer-stated detection range of up to 2,600 metres, the H50 is designed for users who prioritise detail and reach at longer viewing distances.

The H50 combines ≤15mK thermal sensitivity and a smooth 60Hz refresh rate with NocPix's distinctive 2560×2560 circular AMOLED display. Compared with the wider-view H35, its 50mm lens provides greater image scale at distance, making the H50 particularly well suited to observing across larger fields and more open terrain without paying for an integrated laser rangefinder.

IS THE NOCPIX VISTA H50 RIGHT FOR ME?

The VISTA H50 is a strong choice if you want high-resolution 640×512 thermal imaging with greater reach and image scale at distance, but do not require an integrated laser rangefinder.

Its 50mm F0.9 objective produces 4× base magnification and a 15 × 12m field of view at 100m. This gives a more magnified view than the H35 and H35R, making the H50 particularly useful across larger fields and open terrain.

Choose the H50 if long-range thermal performance is your priority and you do not need rangefinding. Choose the H50R if you want the same core 640×512 / 50mm configuration with an integrated 1,200m laser rangefinder.

For the highest-resolution VISTA option, step up to the S50R with its 1280×1024 thermal sensor.

COMPARE NOCPIX VISTA MODELS
Model Sensor Lens Base Mag. FOV @ 100m LRF
H35 640×512 35mm F0.9 22 × 18m No
H35R 640×512 35mm F0.9 22 × 18m Yes – 1,200m
H50 640×512 50mm F0.9 15 × 12m No
H50R 640×512 50mm F0.9 15 × 12m Yes – 1,200m
S50R 1280×1024 50mm F0.9 31 × 25m Yes

H35: Wide-view 640×512 model for scanning and mixed-distance observation.

H35R: The same 35mm 640×512 platform with integrated laser rangefinding.

H50: Longer-range 640×512 model with a 50mm lens and 4× base magnification, without an integrated rangefinder.

H50R: Combines the H50's 50mm thermal platform with integrated 1,200m laser rangefinding.

S50R: Flagship VISTA with a substantially higher-resolution 1280×1024 thermal sensor, 50mm F0.9 lens and integrated rangefinding.

VISTA H50 vs H35 – WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE?

The H50 and H35 both use a 640×512, 12μm detector with ≤15mK thermal sensitivity. The main difference is the lens and therefore the balance between field of view and magnification.

H35: Its 35mm F0.9 lens provides 3× base magnification and a wider 22 × 18m field of view at 100m. This makes it easier to scan large areas and locate heat sources.

H50: Its 50mm F0.9 lens increases base magnification to 4× and gives a 15 × 12m field of view. It also increases the manufacturer-stated detection range from 1,800m to 2,600m.

Choose the H35 for wider scanning and the H50 for greater reach and more image scale at distance.

VISTA H50 vs H50R – DO I NEED THE LRF?

The H50 and H50R share the same core 640×512 sensor, 50mm F0.9 objective, 4× base magnification and 15 × 12m field of view at 100m.

The key difference is that the H50R adds an integrated Class 1 laser rangefinder capable of measuring distances up to 1,200 metres.

If you simply want the thermal performance and do not need accurate distance measurement, the H50 is the more straightforward choice. If knowing the distance to what you are observing is important, choose the H50R.

50mm F0.9 LENS – WHAT DOES IT GIVE ME?

The H50's 50mm F0.9 objective lens is one of its main advantages for longer-distance observation.

Compared with the 35mm VISTA models, the 50mm lens provides greater base magnification and therefore makes distant heat sources appear larger in the image. The trade-off is a narrower field of view.

The fast F0.9 aperture is designed to transmit a high level of thermal energy to the detector, helping the sensor produce useful contrast in demanding conditions.

2560×2560 AMOLED DISPLAY

A defining feature of the VISTA family is its high-resolution 2560×2560 circular AMOLED display.

The large circular viewing presentation and 8mm exit pupil are designed to provide a comfortable and immersive viewing experience, particularly useful during extended periods of scanning and observation.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the detection range of the NocPix VISTA H50?
NocPix specifies a maximum thermal detection range of approximately 2,600 metres against its standard test target.

Does the VISTA H50 have a laser rangefinder?
No. If you require integrated distance measurement, choose the VISTA H50R.

What is the difference between the VISTA H50 and H50R?
Their core thermal imaging specification is the same. The H50R adds an integrated Class 1 laser rangefinder with measurement capability up to 1,200 metres.

What is the difference between the VISTA H50 and H35?
Both use 640×512 sensors. The H50 has a 50mm lens and 4× base magnification for greater reach, while the H35 has a 35mm lens and 3× base magnification for a wider field of view.

Is the H50 better for long-range observation than the H35?
