That means the S50R has four times as many thermal pixels. Fine detail is therefore retained substantially better, especially as subjects become smaller or digital magnification is applied.

The S50R also starts at just 2× magnification and provides a 31 × 25m field of view at 100m, compared with 4× and 15 × 12m on the H50R.
