IS THE RICO2 S75R RIGHT FOR ME?
The S75R is for customers who want maximum thermal image resolution rather than simply maximum magnification. Its 1280×1024 detector contains four times as many pixels as a 640×512 detector, giving the scope substantially more thermal information to work with.
That becomes especially valuable when identifying fine detail, viewing complex backgrounds or increasing digital magnification. Rather than starting with a heavily magnified narrow image, the S75R combines its 75mm lens with a relatively low 3× base magnification and very wide field of view.
If you want serious 75mm long-range performance but do not need the 1280 sensor, the H75R is the more economical choice. If you want the highest-specification RICO2 available, the S75R is the model to choose.

S75R vs H75R – IS THE 1280 SENSOR WORTH IT?
This is the most important RICO2 comparison because the S75R and H75R both use a 75mm F1.0 objective lens. The major difference is therefore the thermal detector.
The H75R uses a 640×512 sensor, while the S75R uses a 1280×1024 sensor. That means the S75R contains four times as many detector pixels.
The effect is not simply a sharper image. The larger sensor allows the S75R to start at 3× rather than 4× and provide a huge 20.5 × 16.4m field of view at 100m, compared with only 10.2 × 8.2m on the H75R.
This means the S75R can show roughly twice the width and height of the scene while still having dramatically more detector resolution available.
Choose the H75R if you want a serious 75mm long-range thermal scope at a lower price. Choose the S75R if you want the 75mm reach without accepting the narrow view normally associated with a long focal length, and you want the maximum image detail available in the RICO2 range.
S75R vs H50R – WHICH MAKES MORE SENSE?
The H50R is the more conventional premium all-round choice. It combines a 640×512 sensor with a 50mm lens, 3–24× magnification and a 15.4 × 11.5m field of view.
The S75R moves to a 1280×1024 detector and 75mm objective while retaining the same 3× base magnification. Its field of view actually increases to 20.5 × 16.4m at 100m because of the much larger sensor.
Choose the H50R if premium 640 performance provides everything you need and you want to spend considerably less. Choose the S75R if image resolution and flagship long-range capability are the overriding priorities.
WHAT DOES 1280×1024 ACTUALLY GIVE ME?
The S75R's 1280×1024 thermal detector contains 1,310,720 thermal pixels. By comparison, a 640×512 detector contains 327,680 pixels.
That means the S75R is working with four times as many thermal pixels as the H50R or H75R.
More detector resolution can provide finer visible detail, improve separation of objects from complex backgrounds and retain significantly more information when the digital image is enlarged.
This is a particularly important advantage in a premium long-range optic because digital magnification normally reduces visible image detail. Starting with substantially more sensor information gives the S75R much more resolution to work with.
WHY IS THE S75R FIELD OF VIEW SO WIDE?
One of the most impressive specifications of the S75R is its 20.5 × 16.4m field of view at 100m.
Normally, increasing objective focal length narrows field of view. The H75R demonstrates this clearly: its 75mm lens and 640×512 sensor provide approximately 10.2 × 8.2m at 100m.
The much larger 1280×1024 detector in the S75R captures a substantially wider section of the image projected by the same 75mm focal length. This allows the S75R to combine long-range optical characteristics with much greater situational awareness.
For real-world use, that can make locating and following heat sources considerably easier than with a conventional narrow-view 75mm thermal scope.
75mm F1.0 LENS – WHY DOES IT MATTER?
The S75R uses a large 75mm F1.0 objective lens, the largest focal length available in the RICO2 range.
The 75mm lens gives the scope strong optical reach before digital magnification is applied. The F1.0 aperture also allows a large amount of thermal energy to reach the detector.
What makes the S75R particularly unusual is that the large 1280×1024 sensor offsets the normally narrow field of view associated with a 75mm lens.
≤15mK NETD – THERMAL SENSITIVITY EXPLAINED
NETD measures how effectively a thermal detector can distinguish very small temperature differences. In general, a lower NETD value indicates greater thermal sensitivity.
The S75R is rated at ≤15mK. This helps the detector distinguish subtle thermal differences within a scene, particularly where temperature contrast is reduced by weather or environmental conditions.
The combination of ≤15mK sensitivity and 1280×1024 resolution gives the S75R both high thermal sensitivity and an exceptionally large amount of image information.
3–30× MAGNIFICATION & STEPLESS ZOOM
The S75R provides 3–30× magnification. Starting at only 3× is particularly notable for a thermal optic with a 75mm objective lens.
The RICO2 platform uses a stepless zoom lever, allowing magnification to be adjusted progressively rather than only through fixed digital zoom steps.
This allows the user to move from the wide 3× overview towards higher magnification while selecting the amount of enlargement appropriate to the situation.

The RICO2 S75R incorporates an integrated laser rangefinder alongside built-in ballistic calculation.
This allows range information and compatible ballistic data to be handled from within the same optic, avoiding the need to switch between the scope and a separate handheld rangefinder.
On an optic designed for extended-distance use, reliable range information is particularly valuable because errors in distance estimation become increasingly significant as range increases.
DETECTION RANGE vs IDENTIFICATION RANGE
NocPix positions the RICO2 series for extended-distance thermal observation and states a maximum detection range of up to approximately 3,896 metres for the range under specified conditions.
Detection range is not the same as identification range. Detecting a thermal signature simply means the optic can establish that a sufficiently large heat source is present.
Positive identification requires substantially more usable image detail and will depend on the size of the subject, thermal contrast, weather, atmospheric conditions and magnification.

MOUNT & RAIL INFORMATION
A dedicated dual-throw Picatinny scope mount is included with the NocPix RICO2 S75R. The S75R does not use a conventional 30mm scope tube or separate scope rings.
If your rifle has a Picatinny rail: the supplied RICO2 mount is designed to attach to a compatible Picatinny rail, so no additional conventional scope mount is required.
If your rifle has an 11mm dovetail rail: the supplied Picatinny mount will not clamp directly to the dovetail. You will need a suitable 11mm dovetail-to-Picatinny adaptor fitted to the rifle first, after which the supplied RICO2 mount can be attached.
Do not select a 30mm Hawke match mount for this scope. The RICO2 S75R uses its own dedicated supplied mounting system.

BATTERY & RUNTIME
The NocPix RICO2 S75R uses a removable rechargeable battery pack, allowing the battery to be changed in the field rather than having to stop and recharge the scope itself.
